The milk panic - a response to the video circulating on the Internet

Is the fact that we drink the milk of another species (cow) more unnatural than the fact that we eat, for example, cucumbers, since cucumbers were not intended for humans to eat them either?

A glass of milk, from Wikipedia
A glass of milk, from Wikipedia

I can not take it anymore. I won't be able to pass the test." cried the student, raising the glass to his lips. "I'm going to do it."

"Do not Do It." I was trampled. I didn't dare approach him. He could have sipped the white liquid before I could knock the glass out of his hands. "Life is so beautiful!"

He looked at me suspiciously.

"Well, life is fine," I tempered my statement. "But still, I beg you. Don't drink from that cup!”

He stared at the glass and did not answer. I decided to try a different approach.

"What did you put in the glass?" I asked kindly. You should know, to tell the MDA.

"Milk," he whispered.

"and what else?" I tried to get him to continue talking.

"Just milk. a lot of milk of Tnuva!" He sat down on the floor, without leaving the glass. "It will kill me, for sure."

"moment." I said "what?"

"He will eliminate me. The milk.” The student repeated his words. "And not just death. It will cause me several different types of cancer, and before that I will most likely choke on my own phlegm and break all my bones because it robs calcium from my bones. And the casein protein used as glue for beer labels will make all my internal organs stick together."

"Are there also positive sides to milk?" I asked dryly.

"Yes." spell. "Before I die, I will grow breasts because of the growth hormones in the milk. I like breasts.”

"Yes," I cleared my throat. "me too. But where did you get all this information exactly?"

"There is a video online," he said in a thick voice. "on YouTube. With Dr. Aryeh Avni, and several other doctors who warned that plain milk is poisonous. And they are absolutely sure of it!”

"I saw the video," I admitted. "It became really viral - it reached more than 150,000 views in a short time, which is an amazing achievement for a video in Hebrew. But you are aware that it is similar to countless other videos in English, the claims in which have been refuted a long time ago, right?"

"No," said the student. "What are they saying?"

"Usually the claims are completely recycled, and based on bad science at best, or deception and half-truths at worst." I said "Take for example the claim that the Chinese and Japanese do not drink milk because they understand that it is harmful to health. Even if we were to take China as a perfect model for medicine, which it really is not, it is still worth paying attention to, for example, the fact that in China the life expectancy is ten years lower than in Israel. And Israelis eat plenty of dairy products, while the Chinese hardly touch the stuff. So you wouldn't expect to see the harmful effect of milk on our life span?”

"Could be," he admitted. "But why don't they touch the milk? Maybe they know something that we don't?"

"They don't eat milk because most Asians are genetically different from Europeans." informative. "All humans are born with enzymes that break down the sugar in milk called lactose. In Asians, the activity of the enzymes decreases a few years after giving birth, when they stop breastfeeding. That's why about eighty percent of Asian adults are really sensitive to milk. The Europeans - and as a result also the Americans, who originally came from Europe - have a mutation that causes them to continue producing the enzymes from the mammary glands throughout their lives, and therefore the vast majority of them are able to continue eating dairy products even in adulthood."

"Well," said the stunt, wrinkling his nose. He already looks less dejected. more curious "And don't you think there is something problematic here? Nature didn't exactly prepare us to drink another species' milk even when we're adults!"

"I don't know who this nature is," I said. "But my natural cat drinks cow's milk with great pleasure. And in general, the whole argument of naturalness is ridiculous to me. Is wearing clothes a natural act? Is eating the flesh of an animal of another species a natural act? Even eating vegetables seems completely crazy to me! After all, the plant only cares about itself, and it belongs to a species so different from the human species! Still, it produces substances that are suitable for our diet. Just like the cow that produces the milk for us."

An unnatural kitten, drinking milk

"And what about cancer?" Claim to know. "They said that milk causes all types of cancer! They said that China has only a thousandth of the number of ovarian cancer cases in Israel, because the Chinese don't drink milk!"

"Did they also say that China leads the world in esophageal cancer cases?" I was interested. "Almost no milk is drunk in Japan either. Have you been told about the fact that Japan is a world champion in stomach cancer cases? That in Japan there are many more cases - more than twice as many as in Israel - of the deadly liver cancer? Or is she second in the world in pancreatic cancer? Third place in the world in bowel cancer?"

"No..." he said hesitantly, "they didn't tell that."

"This is a well-known fallacy of conspirators," I said, "they only refer to the data that supports their premise, and ignore everything else. The problem is that these are also the data they choose to present to the whole world, instead of showing the picture as a whole. The truth is that in China you are only allowed to have one child, so I guess women take birth control regularly. It seems to me much more likely that these measures suppress ovulation in the ovaries, and therefore also thwart the chance of ovarian cancer, than that the milk is the one that indirectly causes ovarian cancer."

"And what about the fact that casein is used in the glue industry?" he demanded, brandishing the fatal cup with a trembling hand.

"Casein is really a protein that is abundant in cow's milk," I said. "And it is also used as glue. But do you know what other substance is used as glue?"

"Which?" Ask.

"flour. If you mix flour with water, you will get an excellent glue." I found out to him. "And if you put flour in a barn for a long time under the right conditions, it will also become explosive. There are whole barns in Texas blowing up in huge explosions. Does this mean it is dangerous to health? of course not. As long as you eat the right amount of flour, you'll be fine. And the exact same thing applies to casein and milk."

"And he won't break my bones?" valid.

"Not really," I chuckled. "This is another bogus statistic that the dime healers are trying to sell you. It is claimed that countries that are champions in milk consumption, such as Sweden and Norway, are also champions in osteoporosis - the depletion of bone mass that causes fractures. And that's true, but they forget to tell you that Sweden and Norway also get the least amount of sunlight a year. If there is no sunlight, there is very little vitamin D - and the bones are damaged regardless of the milk. If anything, it is likely that the Europeans in those countries got used to drinking a lot of milk to prevent their health from worsening. The milk provides the bones with the calcium they need to be strong. Sometimes different dairy products increase the acidity in the blood and therefore cause calcium to leave the bones, but immediately after when the acidity drops, the bones reabsorb the calcium into the content, and also receive as an addition the abundance of calcium in the cheese or milk."

Girl with Milk, by Johannes Vermeer

"Then the milk won't really help me..." The student gestured unhappily with his hand.

"He won't help you avoid the test, no." I agreed with him. "And he probably won't even help you grow breasts. Many cows in America are given a hormone called 'bovine growth hormone', and it makes them produce more milk. As a result, cows also produce an abundance of another hormone - IGF - which is found in their milk. It could be that the healers you rely on think there is a connection between IGF and breast growth, because they confuse the two hormones."

"But won't the IGF itself endanger the body?" asked the student.

"No, because it breaks down in the stomach. Therefore, it is necessary to inject it directly into the bloodstream for it to work." informative. "Many growth hormones break down in the stomach, and therefore cannot affect the body when taken as pills. This is why they are injected into the bloodstream of children with growth hormone deficiency, instead of giving them pills with the hormone. But none of this is relevant at all, because in Israel and Europe it is forbidden to inject hormones into cows."

"But it can't be that everyone is lying!" the student burst out.

"No, not everyone lies." I agreed with him. "There is an abundance of research on milk, the vast majority of which shows that it actually has positive effects. The Israeli Ministry of Health and the American Food and Drug Administration employ reliable and serious people who constantly examine the existing evidence and make decisions based on it. This is their job, and they know that if they don't do it well, they will be fired and may even face criminal charges. And since the media is sitting on their necks all the time, they don't dare to make mistakes. And despite all of this, you must have noticed that they actually strongly support eating milk and dairy products as an available, healthy and cheap source of fats, proteins and vitamins."

"But Doctor Avni says that-"

"Oh yes." I interrupted him. "Doctor Abni. Who is Doctor Avni? Doctor Avni, according to what is written on his website, was fired from the general cash register, which also prevented him from working at any other cash register. Doctor Avni also treats independently now, all types of diseases: childhood diseases, rheumatic diseases, internal diseases, liver diseases, skin diseases, cancer diseases and even acute mental problems. This is very interesting, because I don't know a serious doctor who honestly claims to treat diseases of all these types. And yet, this is what is written on his website."

"Now look, I don't want to blame him because I don't really know the man," I said delicately, "but doesn't he want to win patients as well? Doesn't he need money like the rest of us? Of course he does! Is it possible that he lies and reveals only half-truths to get people to come to him? As I said, I don't know. But as the Sages have already said: respect him and suspect him. And after seeing the video of the milk he is interviewed in, I don't respect the doctor at all. And if we're already talking about doctors, then why do you trust Dr. Avni more than you trust hundreds of thousands of other doctors, including those whose job it is? Because he has an impressive mustache, and gray-white hair and a serious voice and honest eyes? Because he is a good interviewer for television or the Internet?"

"OK!" The student raised his hands. "I realised. Leave out the milk. But I'm still going to fail the test!”

“Well,” I said, “maybe you could do some extra work to improve your grade. If you could, for example, upload the content of this conversation to the web to show me that you understood the main points, I'm sure we could talk about an extra grade..."

And here we are today, and thank you for reading.

did the right thing.

More than 5,000 people entered the blog to read the latest article about the viral milk video that spread like wildfire on the Israeli network. Some complained, rightly so, that I did not take all the points that appeared in the video seriously. And it is true. It was a semi-satirical record, which took for granted the idea that the readers know more or less what science is, why personal testimony cannot be considered ("I stopped drinking milk, and the next day my sputum stopped and my cancer became cancerous!") as representing an entire public , why the lack of evidence is not proof in itself ("But in China there are many other factors that cause the final age to decrease!") and many more logical failures. That's why I didn't even bother to delve into these issues.

Fortunately, there is a group of skeptics in Israel, who stand behind the podcastreasonable doubt'. They released a little long but very, very interesting video that explains everything about the milk video. I highly recommend those interested to watch it, in the hope that it will answer some of the questions and claims raised here.

  1. The year is 2019.
The World Health Organization recommends avoiding meat.
    And dairy products.

  2. Haifai, and to all the other commenters who know everything:
According to the law in Israel, it is forbidden to add things to milk, otherwise it is forbidden to call it "milk".

  3. What is more important to research is the preservatives in our milk. I noticed that in recent years the validity of the milk (didn't last) has been delayed (nowadays around 3 weeks) Many years ago assuming that I am approaching forty today, the validity of the milk did not exceed a few days or a week!!
About a month ago, I forgot to boil "Tera" milk on a low heat for 10 minutes, when I went to the milk I saw to my astonishment that the color of the milk had turned dark yellow (the milk did not burn and did not smell of burnt milk at all!), and on top of the milk there was a thick, yellow layer (not this that we would grab her from the pot as a mother was boiling milk!). I took her out to cool down. And after fifteen minutes or so I held it and pulled it to the sides to check the texture and I was amazed.. This layer was solid and elastic like rubber! Food for thought!!!!
Has the subject of foreign substances that are added to milk from time to time been brought up recently on the Internet or in the media?
I would love to hear the opinions of reliable and trustworthy experts.

  4. From reading the responses, it is absolutely clear that the number of vegetarians/vegans (hereafter, unhealthy in mind) is increasing like any other trend. It can be assumed that in 10 years we will find them opposed to raising kittens or using tampons made from agave plants. Like any religious person, they are also tireless troublemakers. Keep going friends and I'm sure it makes you feel right, smart and strong. for health

  5. A long and boring article! In the entire article there is not even a reference to one article that proves that milk does contribute to health, and/or one article that compares the health of milk drinkers to those who do not drink milk. In short, a hoarding of nonsense in a scientific guise!

  6. Regarding unhealthy reactions of the digestive system to drinking milk (liquid milk at least).
This is a well-known phenomenon that increases with aging.

An assumed source of the unhealthy reactions is that the digestive system ages over the years and loses the ability to digest ingredients that are in liquid milk (I don't remember if it is a component of the protein or of the milk sugar, if there is even a difference between the two). There is no extensive publication on this matter and the explanation of the mechanism that causes damage due to the lack of digestive capacity, probably the lobby of the dairy industry is strong enough to reduce the publication.

I don't know if this damage is caused only by drinking liquid chava, or also from processed dairy products (such as yogurt). It is possible that dairy products are processed (at least in part) and the harmful nutrient disappears during processing.

I am not referring here to other possible harms in milk, such as hormones and antibiotics.

  7. Orit

Why are you criticizing an unimportant technical matter? The university does not have a position paper (except perhaps for a few rare matters which are also usually unnecessary). Different researchers have different opinions and here the opinion of two of them was expressed.

  8. Tamar (the one who gave a link to Harvard).
Why are you twisting the truth? This is not a Harvard position paper.
This is an article written by two academics that was published on the Harvard website but not really as a position paper. This is just an opinion.
It is enough to twist the reality and the truth while trying to adapt it to your views.

  9. Milk does cause phlegm and it also causes problems, but it also has advantages, the biggest of which is that it is profitable and supports a lot of big fat organizations with tremendous power to continuously and aggressively brainwash us

  10. Milk is very harmful. It's actually a kind of liquid meat... the movie The Milkmen demonstrates this and explains the enormous economic forces that brainwash us from childhood that milk is good because they make money from it. Keeps his soul away. And if you have to, you have to boil it and of course without sprays and pesticides that castrate the cows and without antibiotics and growth hormones that enter the milk, i.e. organic goat's milk or a little organic milk... for addicts only... this milk is for babies and puppies

  11. ""Oh yes." I interrupted him. "Doctor Abni. Who is Doctor Avni? Doctor Avni, according to what is written on his website, was fired from the general fund, which also prevented him from working at any other fund."

Dr. Avni was fired because he started making heretical remarks that did not please the ears of the doctors and officials of the Ministry of Health.
He claims, for example, that vaccines for toddlers cause health damage that is sometimes severe. He claims that oncology eradicates cancer by killing the host. He claims that medical studies should not be believed because the pharmaceutical companies fund them.
He argues mainly against drugs called "statins" to lower cholesterol. Here I can testify that I was a victim for several years to these drugs that significantly damaged my health and quality of life!

  12. My natural cat only eats dry cat food, she doesn't even touch canned tuna (only sniffs about it - then abandons the box with sighs). So what does that mean?
And besides, I liked the frame story where the "expert" nevertheless managed to dissuade the student from drinking the glass of milk, even if it is not that toxic. that's how it should be.

  13. The chickpeas and lentils are also not intended for human consumption. These are seeds whose job is to grow a new plant.
And as for the composition of the milk - because of what you wrote, no one drinks milk from cow's udders. The milk goes through a processing process under control and only drinkable milk reaches the consumer (unless there is a fraud such as the one that hooves can fall in homes, regardless of the identity of the food. - The example of silicone.

  14. Milk contains: antibiotics, acids, and pus...from the udders....
Cancer patients are instructed not to touch milk and dairy products!!!
Humans are supposed to feed themselves with proteins such as: chickpeas, lentils, etc., which by the way are rich in calcium and certainly not cow's milk!!!
Think twice before you drink milk.
    "Shooty - the milk"

  15. Omar
The fact that there is no proof that something does not exist does not prove that something does exist. You make this mistake over and over again.

I already wrote - I know many types of mammals that would be happy to drink milk, if it is possible.
Comparing drinking milk by cats to eating poison by mice is simply stupid....

  16. This is not true. Cows in Israel do receive injections of hormones that are produced from their testicles. This is why the Israeli cow produces the largest amount of milk in the world. The claim that the same hormone apparently does not reach the milk is incorrect. There is no proof that the growth hormone does not reach the milk. A percentage of it definitely reaches the milk, even if some of it turns into another hormone. The claim that the IGF hormone breaks down in the human stomach is also an inaccurate claim. The hormone will be absorbed into the bloodstream in any case, but it is clear that with injection its absorption is much higher and faster. And what about the path of the hormone to the stomach? The cells of the ureter are not permeable? The body also breaks down pesticides. Do you want to start consuming them and check the long-term phenomenon?

Regarding the high percentage of uterine cancer in the Scandinavian countries, is there any research that proves it is related to vitamin D deficiency?
Inability to break down some lactose is a very common phenomenon in the West as well.
    Does a cat drink milk?
Mice also eat rat poison and humans smoke. What does this prove?

At the same time, beyond calcium, the most prominent advantage of milk is the strengthening of tooth enamel.

  17. From a position paper of the Harvard School of Public Health
    http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/pyramid-full-story
    • Too much dairy. The guidelines' recommendation to increase the intake of low-fat milk and dairy products seems to reflect the interests of the powerful dairy industry more so than the latest science. There is little, if any, evidence that eating dairy prevents osteoporosis or fractures, and there is considerable evidence that high dairy product consumption is associated with increased risk of fatal prostate and maybe ovarian cancers.

  18. Hello, and thank you for the laughter you brought to my lips.
I personally drink a lot of milk, and regard Dr. Avni's words with reservation, but I still do not think that this article is fair or just.
In matters of nutrition, I have a simple basic premise (which has been known since ancient times) - what is suitable for one person, is not necessarily suitable for another person. In particular, regarding milk specifically - some of us will end up in the emergency room after a few drops of milk, and even die without proper treatment, and in contrast, some of us drink gallons of milk and their bones are healthy and good.
An allergy to cow's milk is quite common (and perhaps even the most common among food allergies), and it is not impossible that even people who are not known to be allergic to milk, often suffer from some kind of allergic reaction that they are not aware of. So it is very possible that avoiding cow's milk does improve the health of many people.
As above, the reliability of studies on nutrition is limited, as we know. It is very difficult to isolate one nutritional component and draw conclusions, because humans are not docile laboratory animals, and many times there are additional variables.
I once saw an idea (of another "healer on a dime", like me), that foods to which the incidence of allergy is high, these are actually foods that are "less healthy" than other foods, and this is how you can rank a "scale" of foods - "healthy foods" are foods to which there are no allergies , and "less healthy foods" are the foods to which the prevalence of allergy in the population is high.
If we look at things this way, we will indeed come to the conclusion that milk is not so healthy. Although I like milk, I think there is a lot of sense in this claim (although, as I said - I think nutrition is an individual thing).
By looking at this we will also reach similar conclusions about wheat flour and other foods (and it is worth mentioning here the monumental work of Weston Price on this subject).
    Good Day.

  19. Finally me and Dr. Tsenza see eye to eye and agree on a certain issue.... the madness surrounding milk has crossed all sane limits...

post Scriptum. I would not recommend anyone to give milk to a cat. They love milk, but the milk may cause them intestinal problems. If anything, it is better that they eat dairy products (cheese or cream, etc. and not liquid milk).

  20. But one thing cannot be denied
The efficient and modern dairy industry involves cruelty to animals. But it's not that interesting...
A calf snatched from its mother...
I would expect a scientific and excellent paper to give a complete picture of all these aspects.
    Science without morality is lame.

  21. Facts probably don't matter. All studies show that milk is good for health. I wish I would get publicity from the dairy industry. If you know an advertising manager there I would love to talk to him.
    my father

  22. emir
Let me tell the truth, so that other readers will understand that you are not telling the truth.
We are the only creatures that wear clothes.
Most mammals would be happy to sip cow's milk, if it were available to them. I once raised a lizard, and also hedgehogs, who enjoyed a plate of milk every day.
Milk is not harmful and does not cause cancer.
    Every large industry generates sums.

Please Amir, put your lies aside.

  23. It is clear that what Amir said is not true. Just conspiracy theories in disguise. After all, the people who carry out the research are academics (at least in part - there are of course private institutes and there are commissioned and funded research, but all of this is parallel to academic research). They do not receive money from anyone, they are not obligated to anyone, and they are people who have dedicated their lives to the goal of discovering the truth. And like the examples given by the anonymous user, there is no shortage of powerful and influential factors - much more than the dairy industry, such as in the tobacco industry, alcohol, energy, media, etc. - who hijack studies on the right and left that clearly show the great damage they cause.

But apparently the dairy industry has some special control over some unknown professor at the Weizmann Institute or the University of Chicago, which prevents him from publishing results on the harms of milk.

  24. Without anything to do with all the arguments and slanders and bickering. The dairy industry generates billions all over the world, and will continue to generate billions, so how do you, naive as you are, expect studies to be published that point to the harms of milk?
Even if the milk industry, will kill us like flies, the accusing finger will never point to the real culprit.
Despite all the facts that we are the only creature in nature that both consumes milk after it has been weaned and reached maturity and also consumes milk from another creature, even though cows are in a state of perpetual pregnancy in order for them to continue producing masses of milk, we will unfortunately continue to consume milk,
Cottage and Milky, because the spin of the dairy industry is very strongly rooted. And it has to come from a huge revolution in order to turn the bowl (of milk) upside down. Not for nothing is it said: 'You don't cry over spilled milk'!!

  25. Fusion http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-4574520,00.html
Israeli study: Moroccans and Iraqis are sensitive to milk - Ariel University researchers found a higher rate than is generally accepted in the world of lactose intolerance in Jews of Moroccan, Iraqi and Ashkenazi origin
"The study found a high percentage of lactose intolerance in Israeli society: the sensitivity was found in 93% of subjects of Iraqi origin, 83% of Ashkenazim, 82% of Moroccans and about 59% of Bedouins.
According to the researchers, the rate is higher than known in the world. For example, the prevalence of the phenomenon among African Americans reaches about 80%, in South America the prevalence of lactose intolerance is around 50% and in Scandinavian countries the sensitivity reaches only about 10% of the inhabitants. "

"I believe that people are motivated by interests"

Do you believe that there are people whose interests include the truth, the knowledge of the truth, and spreading this knowledge and exposing lies to the general public or just anyone they happen upon?

Is this or that particular doctor allowed to be wrong? could it be If two doctors say opposite things does that mean they are both right and you just don't understand? Is one of them wrong? The one who says something different from what you think is true is the one who is wrong?

  28. Shatanova will publish on the science website? From your mouth to the ears of their marketing manager. They don't see a lot of quality sites. By the way, the article was written about two years before the publication of the book "The Guide to the Future" so that if Roi sent it to the science website to promote the book, he had a particularly long-term vision.

Here is a quote from the learned Dr. "There is no such thing as high cholesterol, it's bullshit! The doctors are miserable charlatans."
An explanation - or apologize immediately for what you said to Roy.

After that - please explain to me the "evidence" behind his claim that baking soda cures cancer

And if you don't answer me... I will continue to quote the words of that doctor... so that everyone knows his opinions.
And maybe I will also detail why he was fired from his job at the health fund. Everything, of course, will be legal, so that Dr. Nicham does not file a defamation lawsuit against me, or against the editor of the site.

Come on - we're all waiting.

Of course - there is a source for everything I said... on hold for some reason

  31. I believe that people are motivated by interests. That's why I tend to believe that the long rant about cucumbers (which were not intended to be eaten by humans) that you scribbled to us and which contains slurs and insults towards Dr. Avni with the white mustache stems from interests, as in many studies that present only the parts of the information that better market the product.
From an in-depth and many years of personal acquaintance with this modest and experienced doctor, I suggest that you shed your shoes from your feet with every date, despite the professional experience you brag about.
Is it possible that this is your way of publishing the book 'The Guide to Ati' (d) by Dr. Cezana, or perhaps to publish Tnuva?
Hell, this is not the way to present a position. It's nothing more than a second-rate stand-up show. Your book really doesn't interest me.

  32. One,
It occurred to you that maybe you are simply allergic to milk, like some people are allergic to gluten, flower pollen, honey, bee stings, the smell of their partner... What right do you have - without even one microgram of knowledge on the subject - to dare to compare drinking milk with smoking cigarettes? Ignorance is the mother of all conspiracy theories, and my lady is completely ignorant.

  33. One
If what you claim was true, then scientists would investigate it, if only to receive a Nobel Prize.
I'm sure you mean well, but your opinion is based on a personal feeling. Scientists are just looking for something to investigate and if there was anything in what you say, hundreds of researchers would jump at the chance.

  34. One,

Your response, which I do not doubt a word of, is very emotional and is based *entirely* on your personal experience and the information of your acquaintances. But it could always be that your personal experience or that of the 10 people you asked (or 20 or 30 or 100) does not accurately represent reality. If only we had a way to check in general, without focusing specifically on you and your friends...

Oh, wait. There is such a thing. This is scientific research. And I don't know where you got the statement, "...scientists are not ready to investigate and confirm", can you please prove it? Or is it easier to accuse scientists of lies, cheating, greed and research bias than to prove things?

  35. Lies and half sense!!! This is what your article is based on
It is true that what you said makes sense
It is true that it cannot be said that milk is the cause of all diseases
Just as it cannot be said that cigarettes damage the memory
    But you know what
Cigarettes are a harmful thing. It is harmful to the whole body. And as a byproduct, I'm sure it also harms the brain, apart from harming the lungs and respiratory system and all kinds of proven and confirmed factors.

My problem is with this sharp transition to the fact that milk is positive and normal! And only those who lack lactase.. these rare people. which almost do not exist in our country.. only those may need to avoid milk!!!! Regret!!! Berta!!!

Milk causes phlegm almost immediately. Almost every person I know will tell you that. And yet, there are none and do not exist!!!!! More than 2 and a half scientific studies published in "Tizinbi" that prove that milk causes phlegm. And this thing is crazy!!!!

Personally, I can tell you that since the age of 4 I have tons of phlegm after eating dairy products, which of course are very tasty to me. And because of this damn "lack of evidence", I spent 20 years of my life!!!! When I get up every morning for school, I throw up tons of phlegm, and no one even thinks it's because of the healthy milk I eat.
When I reached the age of 20 or so (which was years ago), the talkbacks and articles about milk not being healthy started to be published. Just alternative articles, which made me try and reduce the products that contain milk from my menu to the Shavuot tax. I finally stopped vomiting, I felt good, my breathing was smooth. And all this just because I removed something unproven and still unproven from my menu. To this day, once a month, I sin and eat something with a dairy product, it causes me tons of phlegm, I regret it and move on.
My problem is not that there is a lack of scientific proof that milk causes innumerable serious diseases, because it is clear that there are other factors that drive people who are sensitive to milk (if indeed not the entire population is sensitive to it as you claim) to get diseases
But even the most basic things, the scientists are not ready to investigate and confirm

Personally, I know quite a few people who, after drinking coffee with milk, develop a type of "allergic runny nose"
    Phenomena of phlegm
People are simply not ready to admit that milk is problematic for them even when they are present in their personal feeling, day in and day out.
Scientists are unwilling to investigate and confirm this simple fact, that milk causes phlegm, and to this day the mechanism for this has not even been found

    That's the problem!

So stop resisting everything that moves, and start investigating and seeing what is the truth and what is the lie in milk.

Because there is a problem son, even if the problem in him is only "for oriental people who lack lactase"

    So forgive me
    But it is about

In the middle of the country!!!!!!

Shouldn't we emphasize this little thing for their sake????!

  36. Yoel

Roy offered a concrete proposal: anyone who wants to try to stop consuming dairy products for a short period of time, according to the results will reach conclusions directly (instead of relying on studies that may be biased).

There is no reason to mock him. Those who want should try what he offers, those who do not want should not try.

  37. To my father Blizovsky,

I read the article you brought about man being a carnivore. I don't doubt that we eat everything, by the way, similar to monkeys. They also eat meat. Whether it's from very small animals (collecting insects, etc.) to hunting other primates. All this was filmed and proven.

I think the problem is the processes the food goes through until it reaches us on the plate. All the preservatives, the lack of freshness, the hormones and the antibiotics that are added to cattle (in the US 70% of the antibiotic industry is for the livestock industry!!!).

It says in the article that the maximum lifespan of a person is 120. I don't think many people reach that age so the figure is clearly exaggerated. I think an average life time between 80-90 is much more likely. Also, the average life expectancy of a person outside of our era moves more towards 60. like the monkeys (if we take out of the equation our advanced medicine and the excellent living conditions).

Regarding the length of breastfeeding a baby, today women do not breastfeed their children at all. Everything has substitutes. So what, what does that mean? I prefer that a woman breastfeed her child for the reasonable amount of time, which is between two and three years, but as we know, this situation is not realistic for our reality. We are not so different from the animals, we just like to think so.

I didn't understand the point you were trying to make. In any case, I think we consume meat and milk = animal protein above and beyond what is desirable for our health. far above And all this is mainly due to economic interests and not due to a real need.

  38. Why do you insist on being such zeros?
What are these articles that kill people's life's work with a rough foot just because your twisted logic seems to him that something in the claim about the dangers of consuming dairy products is inconsistent with what we were taught in kindergarten?
How many people do you know who are dying of cancer?
How many have you known who have already died?
Do not rely on data because of research, just look around you!
Don't you think something is wrong here??!
Something about the way we live causes most of us to die in agony (perhaps 10 years later than the Chinese) but from horrible diseases and a slow and cruel death.

Stop killing these theories! Try it yourself, on your body, instead of being such intellectual heroes
Stop consuming dairy products for one month and tell me how you feel?

  39. Hello my father,

I understand the response and know a little about the principles of evolution, it's really interesting but not related to the discussion.

It is specifically written in the link "Psouni is careful to emphasize that their results concern human evolution. The research is about how eating meat contributed or could have contributed to the spread of the human race on Earth and says nothing about what we should or shouldn't eat today to get good nutrition."

Today it is possible to wean off milk and switch to plant-based food just as well, you don't have to eat meat, and milk certainly not in the quantities that the modern world consumes today. The amount of animal protein that people consume is simply deadly, and it does nothing to improve our brains.

The fact that we ate meat and evolved does not mean that Zev is good for health, I am not interested in producing many offspring and that's it, I want to be healthy for a long life.

And from a psychological/health point of view it is not right for us to eat meat

  40. More,
People who do not understand nutrition criticize facts and chances are very high that everything they know is wrong.
This is the expected reaction from most human beings who experience dissonance - a defense mechanism is activated here and not scientific logic.

I invite you to read this article as well, and in general to listen to people with a suitable background:
    http://www.eatwell.co.il/?CategoryID=363&ArticleID=3202

The article is full of illogicality and mistakes, for example that the hormone is broken down in the stomach not completely, what sense is there in milk if there are hormones that the body is unable to absorb
Some passes into the blood and so do other proteins in food - "thanks to" allergies in the world.

And let's assume for a moment that the milk is indeed dangerous and unhealthy - what would you expect to happen in the world? What happened with cigarettes, they denied for years and continued to advertise that it was healthy.
There is also a lot of money and interests in the dairy industry and the industry that is integrated into all the health organizations will oppose aggressively, so apparently what is happening as a pen is part of this process of breaking the myth.

And the comparison between cucumbers and milk at first is really ridiculous, with all due respect the human brain and man did not evolve because of available milk. Our anatomy proves that we are not predators, so why deny our nature.

It's fine to eat whatever you want, but you should know about the dangers

  41. Dr. Avni also presents himself as an iridologist and a homeopath, two fields that have been proven to be complete nonsense.
Personally, I worked both in a barn and in a chicken coop, all the claims that hormones are given to poultry and cows suck from the finger.

  42. I haven't consumed dairy products for some time now, except once or twice a week because of my great love for the product.
Ever since I saw these clips I started thinking about the issue, but I didn't take any steps that would move me towards a break.
A few months ago, my Israeli friends who train in MMA in the U.S. and also in Israel started telling me that they switched to a dairy-free diet, following other American athletes.
All of them said that they recover from exertion much faster, and that their training has become more effective both in terms of physiological progress, and in the mental aspect.
Since this is a very big trend among MMA athletes in the USA, which is perhaps the most difficult sport that exists, I decided to try as well, while monitoring myself with periodic tests.
Right now everything seems fine to me. I feel stronger, recover faster from hard efforts, and for some reason feel lighter, and I've even lost weight (I consume whole sesame tahini instead, and other green products).
I don't know what the science says definitively, but facts are very hard to argue with.
If in the future the medical tests prove that I was wrong, I can always go back to milk.

  43. Amit - you made me laugh, you didn't bring a link from the Ministry of Health and it's a shame that you mislead people in this way, it's a link to the Council for Milk Consumers, when in its board of directors, the body responsible for the management of the council, there are 19 managers, of which 5 represent the state, 9 represent the producers (the agricultural center , the Israel Cattle Breeders' Association, the Agricultural Union and the Farmers' Association). 4 represent the dairies and one represents the Jewish Agency.
So who here represents whose interests - it's not hard to see.
So either you're not very smart or your response stems from someone's rather obvious interests.
In either case, I don't think you're the person to listen to.
And by the way, they put very beautiful pictures there of the cow's udders. Let them put a real picture that reflects the truly disgusting and repulsive size of their nipples.
    I wonder why.

  44. As my great-grandfather told me that he received from his grandfather who received from his great-grandfather and so to Jacob who received from his grandfather Abraham our father:
    "Follow the money"

  45. What about all the stickers of the association for the fight against cancer?
They stick them everywhere, they have a picture of a child with cancer on them, and it says, milk from cancer...
And I'm sure they have experience with the whole thing.
Besides, don't forget that the adult population gets heartburn after drinking milk.
Heartburn is one of the body's mechanisms that we must listen to and understand that not everything we can put into our body.
Just as confectionery products cause heartburn, dairy products, over-fried products such as fried hamburger, etc.
Let's not forget that milk is intended for the calf of the cow...
Despite this, if you want to drink milk with coffee without feeling the symptoms associated with dairy products, you can put milk powder in the coffee instead of milk.

  46. Aren't you tired of talking about this trite topic yet? Go volunteer at a hospital………….Do something productive!!!

  47. Excellent post - well done. There is nothing behind this video. I prefer to listen to the Ministry of Health and all the health organizations in the world that recommend dairy products, than to some "experts" who make unfounded claims that have never been scientifically proven, but the opposite - ruled out by dozens of studies. Here is an article about the benefits of dairy products http://bit.ly/rPdNYj

  48. to roy,
As far as I remember, the genetic difference is not between Asians and Europeans, but rather that the more people are fed, the more the incidence of those with milk sensitivity increases.
As mentioned, the advantage northerners have in drinking milk is the calcium, for example, which they need so much because of the lack of sunlight.
But what advantage do southerners have in being sensitive to milk?
    Has anyone addressed this?
If not, then don't forget that you saw the following reasoning for the first time on the science website - this way the adults do not rob the babies of the mother's milk for its proteins and other components, which are so necessary for the growing mammals.
Compared to the consumption of meat, for example, which was plundered first and foremost by the male adults.
I would appreciate it if someone could bring a response from a well-versed researcher in this field.

    to my father,
As far as I remember, this is a well-known fact - milk that is alkaline soothes heartburn that comes as a result of hyperacidity.

  49. I have no idea what is right and what is wrong, I don't drink milk and I don't eat meat...

In any case, you say that in 2010 the main cause of death in China became cancer..
What you don't say is that the Chinese have increased their milk consumption by thousands of percent in recent years, so this argument is not acceptable, maybe it even adds another reason to believe that milk causes cancer..

Why would someone inject themselves with IGF?? How do you know it's so unhealthy?? Did they inject it into people to test?? Or does it come from drinking milk and you just don't want to believe it??
Or maybe it doesn't affect health at all??
Not absorbed in the stomach, but causes cancer if injected? Did they really inject it into people to test what it does to them??
injected it to animals from other dangers ?? More abuse ?????????
I'd rather they stop these studies or stop abusing animals..

it's all nonsense. Don't drink milk because they abuse animals, not because of health..
You won't be less healthy if you don't drink milk, and there are facts on the ground for that, you don't need studies for that..

  50. Eric - I worked for years in a dairy farm on a kibbutz. What's wrong with milking parlors?

  51. I may have missed something in the article or in the comments, but isn't the problem actually with lactose?

I have been drinking only LACTAID for many years, which is lactose-free milk, which is also much more durable than milk, and I am convinced that I enjoy all the worlds. Am I living in a movie here too?

  52. As someone who has been to milking parlors several times, I suggest that everyone visit there to see the process and decide for themselves if it is suitable for them to drink it

    I don't drink milk

  53. The most problematic part of this discussion is the "naturalness" of milk consumption.

Humanity has progressed since the primitive man, we are no longer built to eat
Rotten meat to suit our ability to chew (instead of cooking and grilling),
and even the primitive man (who was probably better suited to these conditions)
did not live long. That is why the attempt to bring the argument of "naturalness" to consumption
Any food is not a smart thing to say the least.

  54. Let's summarize: *The modern man prolongs life * The long life of the modern man is accompanied by degenerative diseases, the number of which increases over time. * The modern man's lifestyle differs from previous generations in both the areas of activity and nutrition. * One of the biggest changes in the western human diet is the consumption of cow's milk in considerable quantities. The man of old consumed much less cow's milk [usually as medicine] the cows produced much less milk and it was processed in a different way [dilution of fat was not acceptable, no homogenization, etc.]
Who knows how to connect them?
Too many obstacles separate us from reliable information.
But check why not. For example, I have raised many children [sorry Roy Tsenza, I did not control the birth for the sake of the environment - so I will refrain from mentioning how many] and I have seen a close connection between children's sensitivity to inflammation, etc. and dairy products. In any case of illness/sensitivity/cold, etc., I stopped dairy products. Usually it worked well.
So I pass on the personal data for the benefit of any researcher who would like to check statistics.

  55. To someone completely different...cats are not injected with artificial substances, cows are. This is the story of the Messiah about a white donkey on the way up to Jerusalem, I have seen several such plays in my life, and the fact is that none of them heralded the coming of the Messiah.
If you happen to see on road number 1, a white donkey riding a bearded man and looking very respectable, public notice

  56. The most unhealthy thing is to live. Fact: in the end everyone dies from it.

If the above statement sounds clever to you
This is how the "milk conspiracy" should also be treated
And also for the counterexamples in the article: there is no connection between them
    and food.

The story about the milk sounds like complete nonsense to me. the person is
"Omnivorous" in essence. And this is how he should treat his food.

Esophageal cancer is spreading in China because of the smoking habits there,
What's up with that and milk? The barns may indeed explode because
Flour powder floating in the air - and the same because carpentry
Sawdust - but what exactly does it have to do with it?!

Even the ridiculous "conspiracy" claims can be managed
Without milk, as you can manage in nature without eggs or
No meat or fish, or oysters, crabs or insects
Certain (one of the sources is enough to get B12
And strictly speaking, they can eat vitamin-enriched food) any
The rest also comes from plant sources - so after you consume it
Proteins from boiled vegetables and legumes, ask the
Yourself: Are these more "natural" than milk?!

The short: article and comments, most of which are nothing but
    An unnecessary barbara.

  57. 2 things are certain:
    1) Someone makes a lot of money from the milk (Tera, Tnuva, etc.)
    2) It is possible to manage without drinking milk in any respect. That is, milk is not a food we need.

    ==> Everything else is brainwashing.

  58. Yaron Shalom, I gave the China study only as an example. There are dozens of studies on the subject and I have no intention of listing them all here.
I also know the studies that refute the China study and I know who is funding them. Since the China study was conducted for 20 consecutive years, no study conducted in less time can contradict it.

  59. It is interesting to read the milk war and see how Roy and many stand up to defend the product.
Almost like scientists who are so fixed in their perception that they are not ready to accept anything new. (see Shechtman)
Every claim is used to avoid trying something more difficult, which is to stop consuming a product they depend on.

I stopped consuming milk not because of health concerns, as a person with the heart of a scientist I said to myself "I wonder what will happen if I don't use milk anymore".
For me it was an excellent step, I haven't consumed dairy products for over 3 years now, in the last two years I haven't been sick once, I haven't needed any medication, I feel like a superhuman.

I'm just urging you, instead of doing what's easy and continuing the routine, be scientists and try something new.
Try a week, two weeks without milk and then take a side.

    with appetite 😉

  60. It is possible to receive studies with links to sources.
Research in a PDF file that does not save on full transparency gives greater credibility.
Without it there is disorder and more consensus and superstition

  61. I saw a comment here that referred to the moral aspect, but it was deleted.
Either way, it seems to me that it is appropriate to say that both the reaction video and Roy's reference do not concern the moral aspect at all, but only the factual clarification of reality.

Just as thousands of studies saying that slavery is good (say) would not make it moral, so the studies that say that milk is healthy and nutritious do not undermine / support the moral positions regarding the production of milk from animals.

Connecting the moral issue to the factual issue only harms both ends. These are separate discussions, which should be conducted separately.

  62. My friend the nano technologist Mr. Cezana!

Most of those with independently acquired knowledge do not need your article about milk, nor the articles of Dr. Avni or any other doctor. It is not you or your ilk who tip the scales this way or that when in front of you are people with the ability to study, understand, and analyze findings. The net is the real university open today to a British prince and an African essayist.
You will continue to preach and also be a heavy or light user of dairy products, your friends at Strauss will be delighted and say that your article justifies their investment. It has not yet been heard or proven that any community anywhere in our world, which does not touch cow's milk products, has become infected with serious diseases. I was looking for some balance recommendation, did you submit it, where have the goat's milk products gone in our country, no recommendations? Maybe they will start arriving when Strauss gets serious about it?

You do not convince and you do not tickle those who want to find a way and truth!!!

  63. I am not a scientist and the debate has probably not been decided, because Dr. Avni is not the only one. But personally I know that when I
Consuming dairy products immediately I immediately get a stuffy nose and a bothersome runny nose.
Since I really like dairy products, and especially the smelly ones, I compromise on a runny nose and prefer high-quality cheese....

  64. I personally don't consume dairy products and feel great and I really don't know who is right and who is wrong and studies don't convince me because you can always find studies with opposite conclusions.
It doesn't suit me to be a guinea pig that only years from now will turn out to have acted stupidly, but then it will be too late.
What I do know is that membranes from the plant world are superior to membranes from the animal world and therefore I trust them more and this from the knowledge that I don't trust the farmers and I have no control over what the poor "production facilities" that they exploit,
And of course I feel deeply satisfied that I am not a participant in the enormous environmental destruction that this industry produces.

  65. Forks over knives
thats the movie where this idea comes from.. and no it hasn't been made by amateurs, it was made by two professors with world wide names and fame..
go see it and judge for yourselves.

  66. Don't talk about studies, in the field of nutrition there are studies that prove whatever you want (wine is healthy, wine has no effect, wine is unhealthy).
Discuss meta-analyses and systematic and critical review articles.

  67. David, thank you for your reference to the unfounded claims in the "funded research", "the interest of the producers" or any other name that matches the above text.
Yaron, this article is a shame, for you and for the site you represent, and the claim that the cucumber is not created for us either is unfounded and despicable and gives the entire article the proper edge.
The same goes for the claim about kittens drinking milk. For your information, it is highly not recommended for kittens to drink milk since this causes them diarrhea and they should be given water to drink, and as for food, if they are not old enough to eat on their own there are substitutes for them, just like there are for babies. You wouldn't think of feeding a baby cow's milk, would you??
By the way, for many years I ate with pleasure a combination of cheese, cream and cucumber and my cat ate with me so greedily that he learned to love cucumbers! My cat can eliminate a whole cucumber (also steal it from the counter if needed...) So much for your milk, cheese and cucumber nonsense.
But let's put the scientific facts aside for a moment.
The dehumanization we do to ourselves by quartering a cow, taking her calf and drinking the milk intended for the calf is an abomination to the human race, not to mention the torture that the cows go through that are now "milked" in the amount of 30-50 (!) liters per day, an amount that does not come close to the original amount That the cow produces for her son!
And let's not forget the shocking torture that the calf also goes through by being fed against its will from the second it is born (!) from a bottle and if it refuses, violence is not a dirty word. All this so we can eat more milky/whipped cream/fill in the blanks. I am attaching a link to Gary Yurofsky's lecture, you may have already heard of him. I recommend you and everyone to watch it. and internalize. http://gary-tv.com
And after you watch, I wish you to have fun with a full glass of milk (that of the Stundt).
And personally, since I stopped eating cheese products (I also stopped meat), a few months ago, I am no longer constipated, and hemorrhoids that started in the last two years - have completely disappeared.

  68. Something here might be able to point to studies that can confirm what is written here. I happened to read several books that speak against eating from animals, but finding contradictory information is more difficult...

  69. Yasmin - I invite you to watch the reaction video, which contains dozens of references and sources for each and every claim.

  70. Hi David, several references:
    A. "Which causes us to not know how to express milk" - but most of us do know how to express milk. We have an adaptation that ensures that for most of us, the enzymes that break down milk and its components are present throughout life. If what you say was true, 100% of the population would be lactose intolerant.
    B. What you describe is exactly the natural fallacy. Our stomach does not care what the purpose of the substance was originally, but only whether right now, here and now, it is nutritious and healthy in absorption, assimilation and the building blocks contained in it.
third. Just as you point out, and rightly so, reservations about such statistics, it is correct to refer to the statistics stated in the original milk video. It is not possible to take a super-complex figure such as the incidence of cancer or the number of fractures, and attribute it to one factor, without in-depth research and highly complex statistical processing. Roy gave these examples to show that if we lower the bar to the level of the arguments from the original video, then there are many more arguments that are at the same (wrong) bar of evidence.
    d. Not true at all. All the major research bodies in the world conclude that calcium consumption at an adequate level moderates the effects of osteoporosis, and that milk in moderate amounts is a healthy and nutritious way to achieve this consumption, plus vitamin D and other components. You don't /must/ rely on milk, but it's definitely possible.
God. Not true. If you take the amounts of calcium excreted in the urine and compare them to the amounts of calcium introduced into the body, you definitely see that some of the calcium is reabsorbed, even in excess.
Just as if you drink a liter of water, the fact that you excrete some of it in urine and sweat does not mean that you are in a third fluid balance in the body, so also if you drink a lot of milk, and excrete some of the calcium in the urine, does not mean that you are in a negative calcium balance in the body.
and. Absolutely not - you are confusing the growth hormone rBGH itself, which breaks down a few hours after milking and never reaches the processing stations, compared to the long-lived IGF1 hormone, which is not absorbed through the stomach.
    G. Please provide sources for your claims. I looked into the matter in depth, and found a situation opposite to the one you describe.

David - I invite you to watch the attached reaction video, with dozens of references and sources for the multitude of claims expressed.
If you have any corrections/comments on the sources, I would love to hear them.

  71. I read your instructive opinion with great interest.
I'm sorry - apart from hiding, you don't invent mandatory sources, you don't have any findings and you didn't do any research.
The fact that Chinese live less does not contradict what was said about milk. I don't know Dr. Avni either, but I'm sure he didn't buy his degree for a shekel and a half in Thailand.
I don't even have a way to contradict your words because you didn't say anything

  72. A. He writes down so much nonsense and incorrect things there.
The part that Asians don't know how to break down milk and Europeans do, is simply a gross lie (by the way, Chinese who live in the West, consume milk and the damage they cause is no greater than the damage that milk causes to Europeans). In all humans, after infancy, the amount of enzymes that break down milk decreases significantly, which means that we do not know how to break down milk.

    B. The thing about the "natural" cat There is nothing natural about the cats in our home, and regardless, my cat would drink soy milk and eat bread if they brought it to him, that doesn't mean it's the natural thing for him, that doesn't mean it's natural for one animal to drink another animal's milk ,” after all, the plant only cares about itself, and it belongs to a species so different from the human species! Still, it produces substances that are suitable for our diet. Just like the cow that produces the milk for us." This is one of the most ridiculous arguments I've heard, the cow produces milk for her calf, and for that alone, when she doesn't nurse the calf, she shouldn't have milk, it's that we interfere and enslave her in such a rude way and make her produce 8 times the milk a day and hundreds of times the amount of milk she used to produce during Her life, he didn't say she produces the milk for us!!!

    C. What does esophageal cancer have to do with China? And stomach cancer in Japan???
Esophageal cancer is caused by alcohol, cigarettes and environmental damage!
Stomach cancer and liver cancer in Japan is a direct result of the fish-based diet of the Japanese which has a lot of heavy metals in them and they cause these cancers.

He says this is a well-known fallacy among conspirators, but he brings here data that is in no way related to the consumption or non-consumption of milk.

    d. The link between osteoporosis and milk consumption has been proven in countless studies. This nonsense about the sun is a complete lie because Israel also has many, many more cases of osteoporosis than Japan or China, and we don't lack sun, but we do consume a lot of dairy products.

God. When the blood becomes acidic, causing calcium to come out, it is not reabsorbed, but comes out in the urine.

and. The growth hormone does not break down in the stomach, this is another lie, because the casein protects it, and it is absorbed in the blood system. Just as it is supposed to absorb the calf that needs the signal and the hormone.

    G. The vast majority of independent studies on milk (not funded by the milk corporations) show clear damage that the milk causes.

    H. The personal attack on Dr. Avni is irrelevant, and on the contrary, it can also be argued that the doctors recommend a diet that causes us harm, so that they can have work so that they can prescribe us more drugs and receive more dividends, not only Dr. Avni, by and large doctors, including humans, prevent from interests, so you always have to take everything with a limited guarantee.

In conclusion, this is a demagogic and annoying jumble of nonsense.

    Good Day

  73. The recommendation of "I only knew about myself to tell" is excellent and true for many habits.
If you have the self-discipline to keep an orderly record, this is a great way to increase the quality of life.

  74. As one who favors and is loyal to the scientific method, I can share my personal story.
I suffered for 5 years from esophagitis + extremely severe heartburn.
The gastro-oncology doctor didn't really help me and the drugs only made me feel worse.

After I was exposed to the articles about the milk, I did a test on myself with a record of what I ate and when I had heartburn and found a direct connection between the things.

Today I (almost) do not consume dairy products and I no longer have any heartburn at all, and the pain attacks from the heartburn in the esophagus have decreased by 90 percent both in intensity and frequency, I am suggested that when I eat milk, I am likely to have heartburn that evening and the following days (by the way, butter does not affect the heartburn , maybe because of the low amount of protein, maybe not...).

My general feeling is also better.
I have consumed milk all my life, so I am not sensitive to lactose or casein.

My cymbals, check yourself in a predetermined period of time with an accurate record, that's the only way you'll get what's right for you, we're too complex creatures for the global yes/no recommendation, see what makes you feel good in life.

  75. Completely one-sided, populist and not serious.
Not to mention unscientific despite the itzlata that the writer ties to himself.

Such an article has no place on a scientific website.

  76. Uzi - if you are interested, I recommend that you read the methodical and deep refutation of the China study that we linked to in our video.

Beyond that, it is clear that in every scientific subject there will be studies here and there (there are studies showing that tomatoes are linked to cancer, for example). The question is where 99% of the qualitative studies lead, and what is the opinion of 99% of the experts in the field.

In this case, as almost every summary of almost every comprehensive study shows, milk in adequate amounts is healthy and nutritious.
Even if the China study did not have all the flaws it has, it should have been weighed into this background, as is done in any other field of science.

  77. Yair - indeed you are absolutely right that knowledge is not a function of a degree.
In our video we followed two parallel lines
    1. Emphasizing the fact that the interview and press clips, when put in this way, create the impression that the speakers are part of the "normal" scientific establishment, thus creating an illusion of respectability.
    2. Completely detached from the first section, we meticulously go through claim after claim, and refer to it as a matter of fact, and not as a person.

When Gideon Ron makes a claim regarding the increase in acidity that leads to bone loss (for example), we do not close the discussion with the claim "Well, he is not an MD, so he does not know what he is talking about", but we bring sources and references that show that this claim does not hold up when tested in depth and scientifically.

The only places where the two lines get mixed up is when someone's worldview actually affects (according to their own words) their decision making and analysis. Thus in Avni's case, his natural worldview leads him (according to what is quoted from his website) to draw incorrect and logically flawed conclusions.

  78. A very nice and entertaining article, but ignores dozens of serious medical studies whose conclusion is unequivocal that milk and its products do cause damage to the body. I suggest that the esteemed writer consult, for example, the "China Study" before he writes about things that are not necessarily in his field of expertise.
The very claim that even a cucumber did not mean to be eaten, lowers the level of the article exactly where it belongs:
    a parody

  79. Like Dr. Avni, Dr. Czana is an expert in everything.
Nevertheless, there are many non-bombastic articles that seriously show harm from eating dairy products. What does this mean - ask that you make generalizations, and not in China, but also in the Middle East and Europe, there are still many for whom milk is harmful, and it should be taken personally, not collectively. Likewise, food sensitivity can develop late. Cezana's claim that the FDA does not make mistakes is debunked, in light of a considerable number of bad drugs that received their approval from the FDA, and also because of the well-known connection about the influence of industrial and commercial entities on the American regulators.
Regarding the "Reasonable Doubt" video, it should be said that there are no bigger conformists than them, they are always with the establishment, the discrediting they do to some doctors should be noted that in general, a doctor's degree is only a master's degree, but more importantly, knowledge is not necessarily a function of a degree.

  80. Eran, thank you very much! You saved me a lot of trouble in explaining why the milk hysteria makes no sense. By the way, I got to interview Dr. Avni. I shelved this interview. We are withholding further details, for fear of a libel suit.

  81. Roy, I gave you a like (you saved me all the long explanations, which I had to convey to all the hysterics)...

  82. Everyone has interests - the one who made the original video (who favors veganism), the members of reasonable doubt (who support critical thinking), the dairy companies (who are interested in maximizing profits), and on and on and on.
Therefore, in the reaction video, we made sure to back up every logical and factual claim with evidence, sources and references indicating that:
    1. Considerable parts of the claims made in the original video are baseless.
    2. The experts in the relevant fields and the vast majority of the qualitative studies on the subject agree - milk in the right amount is nutritious and healthy (with the exception of cases of specific health problems such as allergy / lactose intolerance, etc.).

Those interested in researching the issue themselves are invited to follow the research that the people of reasonable doubt did, as we explicitly state on the YouTube video page.

(And just so that there is no doubt - no body, official or unofficial, contacted us in order to tilt the review to one side or another. Our listeners sent us the original video and asked us to refer to it in the program, but that's all)

  83. Very nice, but I was left with the feeling that not everything is clear to the average person
You should present an orderly table that compares the claims with the scientific medical reality
    Briefly and to the point.

It is possible to write a short comment next to each claim, it has been proven that it is not true, it has been proven that it is true, etc.
A vague response that is not sharp and clear only strengthens the owners of the unfounded claims

  84. Maayan: Indeed, for nearly two years, over 90 programs, and hundreds of items, we slowly built a (small) reputation, so that someone would pay us to contradict a web video with less than 200 thousand views.

Surprisingly, the way to contradict the video was by citing the scientific opinion accepted by over 99% of the experts in the field on the one hand, and acute factual errors of the original speakers on the other.

But you're right, that's the only logical explanation.

  85. I know them. They are honest people, and in general this argument is strange, first of all the other side also benefits - from the books, consultations, etc.
And besides that, if you remember correctly two days ago, this is also the argument of the opponents of vaccines, that the pharmaceutical companies profit from it. I'm the last one to praise corporations, but in this case, it's just an excuse, because there is also objective science and you have to go by it and not by arguments from the ass.

  86. As usual, thanks. Important and entertaining.

Just a small note, the article implies that flour is like TNT and becomes unstable (or something like that) over time.

As far as I know this is not true. Flour does enhance an explosion, but it doesn't explode by itself, you need a flame.
