Blocks from Mars and plaster from Venus?

Researchers from the USA have developed bricks that will protect the residents from the cosmic radiation on Mars; The bricks will also be used to protect against nuclear reactors on Earth; The first flights to Mars are expected in 2020

Scientists from the USA are developing bricks resistant to cosmic radiation, in case it is decided to establish colonies on Mars. The new product may also have applications on Earth, such as building shields around nuclear reactors.

Scientists at the College of William and Mary in Virginia are exploring the possibility of assembling bricks that will be used to build structures on the surface of Mars. The bricks will be composed of Martian soil and polyethylene, a synthetic polymer used as an insulator and found in every plastic bag. The scientists test the resistance of prototypes with different concentrations of polyethylene to extreme temperature and pressure conditions.

The first manned missions to Mars are expected to take place between 2020-2025. Due to the difference in the orbit of Mars and the Earth, it is possible to visit Mars only once every two years. If an astronaut is sent there, he could be stuck on the surface of the planet for a long time. Anyone who tries to live on the red planet will have to protect themselves from the dangerous cosmic radiation.

Despite the new research, Mars experts claim that when astronauts go to Mars, in many years, they will bring ready-made houses and will not have to build their residences there.
