Radio contact and twenty questions
The International Space Station (ISS) is a joint project for several countries led by the American Space Agency (NASA). The station is being built in space in modular stages that arrive by shuttle flights several times a year. Since the beginning of 2001, the station has been staffed by teams of three astronauts who change every four months. The current team, the fifth in number, includes: Peggy Whitson (USA), Sergey Treschev and Valery Kurzon (Russia).

The possibility of connection between students around the world and the international research station floating around the earth, started in the world about a year ago, thanks to an educational project shared by NASA and the International Association of Radio Amateurs - "ARISS" (Amateur Radio International Space Station).
"Rosh Gadol", who accompanies the students of Israel in Space Year, with the blessing of the Ministries of Science, Education and the Israel Space Agency, is happy about the opportunity to join the Association of Radio Amateurs in Israel affiliated to the World Union, and to enable the Israeli youth to realize the personal connection to the station's staff. On the day of the engagement, we raise our heads to the pioneers of the space age and to the smart technologies of the human spirit.

In the program:
12:10 - Gathering and opening remarks
12:30 - Screening of a film about the space station
12:50 - closing of the auditorium doors
13:00 - call to the space station

One response

  1. The Dakota plane that was in Eilat moved to Ramon Airport.
Try to get the radio enthusiasts to turn on the plane's walkie-talkie for the radio enthusiasts. Rona will probably also be happy to maintain this radio connection. Let's hope it was recorded.
