The School of Dentistry of the Hebrew University and Hadassah Hospital is inaugurating a new program for academic cooperation with the Faculty of Dentistry at Al-Quds University.

As part of the academic cooperation, the first conference in the Middle East in the field of dental implants will be held tomorrow at the "Ambassador" hotel in Jerusalem. The conference is held under the auspices of the Middle Eastern Center for Dentistry named after Dr. Walter Cohen, of the Hebrew University and Hadassah Hospital. Other universities that will take part in the conference: Harvard, Drexel, "Case Western Rivers" and the University of Pennsylvania from the United States, as well as "Hacettepe" University in Turkey. The conference was sponsored in the amount of $90,000 by leading multinational companies that manufacture dental equipment. Yes, senior academics from around the world will present findings and innovations in the field of dentistry at the conference, including lecturers from the United States, Turkey, France and Al-Quds Palestine University.

The plan for collaboration between the faculties is a continuation of the readiness for academic collaboration, which the presidents of the two universities - Prof. Menachem Magidor and Prof. Sri Noceiva - declared last year in London. The two talked about: "joint efforts to work together in the sharing of knowledge, for the education of our people, and this also to avoid situations of boycott or discrimination in the academic aspect".

The new program will include collaboration between the two universities in the field of research, teaching and clinical work, in which lecturers and students from both universities will be paid.

"We can build bridges for cooperation on the professional side, live in peace as human beings and thus set an example for others," said today the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hebrew University, Prof. Adam Shtebholz. The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Al-Quds University adds that: "As dentists, we know that bridges can fall as a result of damaged infrastructure. Therefore, we must replace the dilapidated bridges with new bridges of "peace", which will be based on the trust we will acquire in each other and our willingness to work in cooperation."
