Dr. Israel German was appointed as the vice president and CEO of the Technion

Until now, Dr. German served in a similar position at Ben Gurion University in the Negev

Dr. Israel German (50) was appointed as Deputy President and CEO of the Technion. German, who holds a doctorate in economics, replaces Professor Michael Rubinovitch, who is ending his position after 14 years. In his previous position, Dr. German was vice president at Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
German was born in Be'er Sheva and served in the IDF as an officer in the Amman. Graduated with honors in economics at Ben Gurion University, completed a doctorate in macroeconomics in the USA and taught at the University of North Carolina. After a year he moved to the World Bank in Washington DC. si. and was in charge of the Philippine area.
Upon his return to Israel, in 1988, Dr. German was appointed senior assistant to the CEO of "Haifa Chemicals" on economic and strategic issues. In 1991, he was asked by the president of Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Professor Avishai Braverman, to serve as the university's vice president and in 1995 he was promoted to the position of university director. In 1999 he was appointed vice president and CEO and in 2003 vice president.
