It is enough for the temperature to rise by two degrees so that the whole world will suffer from climate hazards and up to 30% of the species will be in danger of extinction

The warming will mainly affect the developing countries, and that areas that suffer from a lack of precipitation will become even drier. This is according to a report of a special UN panel

The United Nations Panel for the Examination of Global Warming (IPCC) published on Friday a summary report on the effect of global warming on the planet. The report predicts that up to 30% of the species on Earth are at risk of extinction if the Earth's temperature rises by two degrees - above the average recorded in the 80s and 90s.

At a conference in Brussels attended by 120 representatives, it was further determined that if the temperature on Earth rises by two degrees, the danger from floods, severe storms, hunger and disease will increase; The US, China, Saudi Arabia and India worked to soften the earlier and stricter drafts; The report will be delivered to the conference of industrialized countries (G8) in June.
The chairman of the panel, Ragendra Pazuri, says that the report assessed the impact of climate change in different regions of the world. The report was published after five years of scientific work and four days of intensive discussions that included scientists and senior government officials from all over the world.

The report also states that the warming will mainly harm the developing countries, and that areas that suffer from a lack of precipitation will become even drier - something that will increase the risk of hunger and disease. In other areas, the danger from floods and severe storms will increase; And the rise in sea level may endanger the areas near the coastline.

Pechauri expressed satisfaction with the conclusion reached, but noted that it was preceded by marathon discussions that lasted all night, accompanied by many tensions between scientists and diplomats. Some scientists initially refused to sign the summary but eventually relented, others said they would not take part in such discussions in the future.

As recalled in the first report in the series published in February, it was determined that human actions are responsible for at least 90% of global warming since 1950. A third report should be published next month and focus on ways to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. A fourth and summary report will be submitted in November.

  1. It sucks that the earth is warming and many species are in danger of extinction, but the UN committee announced that in eight years the global warming will begin to be curbed

  2. what a mess really.

And there is nothing to be done about it. Even if I give my small contribution (recycle, turn off electrical appliances when not needed, etc.), it's not really going to change anything.
