This week, Intel launches its 2010 activities with the Top Group and Intel Awards programs designed to encourage excellence in academia.

The Top Group program has been operating for the eighth year in a row among students studying for an engineering degree in electronics, electricity, machinery, refrigeration and air conditioning, mechatronics, instrumentation and control, chemistry and software majors. Intel, in collaboration with the technological colleges and the MHT, locates outstanding students who will graduate in the coming year, and integrates them into a program consisting of two sessions throughout the academic year. These meetings expose the students to unique enrichment content that contributes to the basic and essential knowledge for any engineer who sees his future in the high-tech industry in general, and in the semiconductor industry in particular.
At the end of the academic school year, a festive graduation ceremony will be held, in which 30 merit scholarships worth NIS 90,000 will be awarded to selected students from among the program participants.

Elon Greitzer, a graduate of the program and currently working at Intel, says: "The TOP GROUP program was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, which changed my life by allowing me to integrate into a career path that I always wanted."

In addition, Intel is also launching the Intel Awards program these days. Intel Awards is a unique program of Intel among students in universities and academic colleges throughout the country. As part of the program, Intel annually awards excellence awards to outstanding students with first, second and third engineering and science degrees in various technological fields. The purpose of the program is to encourage excellence in studies and research, and to promote familiarity with the industry among the students.
. The students who will participate in the program will be invited to Intel and will be exposed to technology and content relevant to their studies, and will also be invited to participate in a panel with engineers from Intel.
The winners among the participants will be invited to a central ceremony, during which about 60 prizes with a total value of about NIS 300,000 will be awarded.
