Our representative at the space conference in Canada Tal Inbar reports:

I met this morning with the director of China's manned space program and the technaut Yang Liwei.

They told me that the goals of China's manned space program are:
1. Perform a spacewalk in 2005-6
2. Try to dock a Shenzhou model spacecraft with a space lab prototype in 2007.
3. To establish a space station that will be permanently manned by the year 2008.
The two did not mention previous Chinese proposals for manned launches to the moon.
Technaut Yang Li-wei was awarded the American Astronautical Association's Space Flight Achievement Award.

The Chinese delegation presented a presentation with an in-depth look at one of the most interesting manned space programs in the world.
The presentation includes previously undisclosed footage of the Shenzhou spacecraft's experiments and experiments conducted on it.

Expect more updates throughout the day.

Tal Inbar is vice president The Israeli Space Association
