The spacewalk that was planned for today, and which was already postponed from Thursday, was postponed again on Saturday. The members of the Discovery team and the space station will continue preparations for the spacewalk and the transfer of the equipment to the shuttle. On Thursday they also enjoyed free time.

The preparations for the space walk include learning the processes, construction tools and fitting the gloves of the space suits. Astronauts Scott Przezinski and Doug Wilcock will perform the spacewalk. Przynski will ride on the station's elongated robotic arm to reach the solar collector that was damaged during its retirement earlier this week. Wilcock will guide the arm operators who will manipulate Pryzynski.

The space station program changed the priority of the interest starting walk from checking the bearing motor of a normal solar collector to repairing the damaged solar collector.

A fifth spacewalk scheduled to occur during the STS-120 mission will be postponed after the shuttle's departure, and will be performed by the station's crew.

  1. This was also my opinion until 2003. I wrote about the launch, the landing and maybe one spicy news in the middle and I discovered this when I thought of trying to make an archive of previous missions, something that has been rejected in the meantime.
By chance due to the presence of an Israeli astronaut I tried to cover every pips on mission STS-107. Unfortunately I used some of these materials for the book, under unfortunate circumstances.

In any case, since the Columbia disaster, the station that was taken by force from the Hot Scouts - CNN and other stations follow the space operations and do not treat them as routine. me too.

The sting is that articles of this type without real scientific value, which recently pop up like mushrooms after the rain, push more important articles to the archive and it interferes with keeping track of the comments. I'm not saying that I'm not interested in what happens with NASA's activities in space, but you have to know how to choose the really important things. Not every launch or spacewalk deserves a title.

  3. hi my father
There is respect, continue your interesting and important work. The space station is an evolving and changing place and has many partners besides NASA.

  4. To my father
With all due respect! Why do you think this kind of news is interesting or important?
There is no new invention or important discovery here. Sputnik was launched many years ago. It looks like you've turned the site into some sort of NASA PR agency.
