The International Space Station's 23rd crew chief Oleg Kutov and crew members TJ Kramer and Soichi Noguchi landed today in the Soyuz TMA-17 spacecraft in the steppes of Kazakhstan this evening at 18:25 Israel time.

Kotov is in charge of the helms during the landing since the Soyuz left the International Space Station about three and a quarter hours earlier.

Now stationed are 24th Crew Commander Alexander Skavostrov and Flight Engineers Tracy Caldwell Dyson and Mikhail Kurinenko. Three more crew members: astronauts Shannon Walker and Doug Wheelock, and Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikin will be launched from Baikonur on June 16 aboard the Soyuz TMA-18 spacecraft.

Starting in a few months, the Soyuz spacecraft will become the only vehicle by which astronauts reach the International Space Station when the shuttles are retired.

  1. To my father, you did not record how long they stayed at the 23rd staff station

  2. Doesn't look as impressive as the landings of the American space shuttles, landing with parachutes reminds me of the 60s.
