In the second half of July and early August, the Earth moves through several streams left after the passage of comets, each of which produces a small meteor shower. These meters come from the constellations Cygnus, Capricorn and Aquarius and the most famous of them comes from the constellation Perseus. But even if the number of meteors is moderate, 100 per hour as expected, many of them will still be visible because the moon will be pale. The meteors are also relatively fast - reach the earth at a speed of over 200 thousand km/h. In the early evening they arrive from the east/northeast, then the Perseus group should be followed north as it rises. This group is only visible from the northern hemisphere. The best view is when the group is in the sky, after midnight local time.
On Thursday, August 12.08.10, 100, the record Perseid shower, the largest meteor shower observed in the year, will be observed from Israel. At the peak of the meter, it will be possible to return at a rate of meteors of about XNUMX meteors per hour.
