The Epson company, a world leader in innovation and imaging technologies, is launching in Israel the augmented reality glasses - Moverio Pro BT-2000 - a special version of the smart glasses intended for the professionals who perform their work in the "field", which are supposed to revolutionize the visual communication of the employees. This is a tougher version compared to the previous generation of glasses, characterized by ease of use ("hands-free" approach) and in accordance with the requirements of the future workplace.

Since entering the smart glasses market in 2011, Epson has worked in collaboration with the company's customers in a variety of different industrial fields, who understood the potential inherent in Moverio to make their business more efficient, whether by virtually sharing the experience of skilled workers, enabling remote support , or eliminating the need to use bulky training booklets. The result: a smart head system - Moverio Pro BT-2000.

The Moverio Pro BT-2000 features a high-resolution 5-megapixel stereo camera with XNUMXD depth sensing, which detects the size and spatial position of objects relative to each other. The glasses provide a platform for displaying augmented reality content, 'over' the real world and XNUMXD images.

The system also includes an inertial measurement unit (IMU, a type of motion sensor) original and particularly sensitive to Epson, for accurate tracking of the head or internal position and a 1350cd/m2 high resolution display. The Moverio Pro BT-2000 model introduces new dimensions to commercial environments, as it allows employees in different locations to see exactly what their colleagues see, receive visual assistance and provide informed support and training.

The new product also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity with external interface devices such as a keyboard, mouse and headset, decoding and voice recognition for easier hands-free operation, and two replaceable batteries to allow work to continue with minimal interruptions and downtime. The system is based on Android, and allows companies and organizations to create and share applications that adapt the product to their exact needs.

According to Inbar Eini, the product manager at Epson in Israel, this is a real revolution in the way people in many industrial fields will be able to work, whether it is production, logistics, maintenance, education, or any other industry. "The new head system offers professionals countless opportunities to improve the efficiency of visual communication and adds a new dimension to their work."

The Moverio Pro BT-2000 will be available in selected markets - including Israel - in the fall of 2015, and then in other regions
