The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, arrived yesterday (Tue, 26.4.05) for a two-day visit to Cairo during which he will meet with the President, Hosni Mubarak, and the Secretary General of the Arab League, Amru Moussa

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, arrived yesterday (Tue, 26.4.05) for a two-day visit to Cairo, during which he will meet with the President, Hosni Mubarak, and the Secretary General of the Arab League, Amru Moussa.
Despite the attempt of both sides to equate the visit with a political and commercial character, the Russian president's entourage was joined by the heads of the Russian arms and space industries. It was reported from Moscow that during the visit the two sides will implement in a practical way the collaborations that were discussed during the meeting of the two leaders in Moscow in May 2004.
In a meeting about a year ago, the two sides discussed, among other things, cooperation in the development of spy satellites. Last year, the Egyptian government approved a project to launch a spy satellite into space. The Egyptian Ministry of Science stated that this is a project whose purpose is "to give an answer to the Israeli dominance in space that is expressed in the Israeli spy satellites - Ofek".

A satellite will help Muslims determine the dates of the holidays

The Muslim world will use satellite technology to determine the date of the White's birth, and in this way determine the Muslim calendar. The Voice of Israel reported that the Organization of Islamic States announced that within two years a satellite would be placed in space, in a project costing 8 million dollars. The information that will be sent from the satellite will allow the scholars of the Muslim religion to determine the dates of the holidays with great precision.
