The Davidson Institute for Science Education invites you to the seventh annual conference for thinking games, which will be held this year on Thursday, Tu Bayer 19.5.2011, May XNUMX, XNUMX. The conference is a national meeting with many participants held once a year in the Klor science garden complex located within the Weizmann Institute of Science campus.
The conference is a unique opportunity for a fascinating professional meeting of those involved in the field of thinking games, riddles, puzzles and recreational math.
The conference will include many options for playing, experimenting, sharing and exchanging puzzles, riddles and thinking and challenging games. During the conference, plenary lectures will be combined as well as 30-minute lectures on various topics in the field of recreational math, puzzles and thinking games (lectures that will be accepted after a judging process).

The program/conference committee invites proposals for presentation as part of the seventh conference on thinking games of the type: lecture (a), workshop (b), stand placement (c).

A. Lectures are offered (about thirty minutes per lecture - including time for questions)
1. Innovations in the field of recreational mathematics.
2. Innovative math puzzles.
3. Presentation of original thinking games and their solution, and/or mechanical challenges (topology games).
4. Connections between mathematics and other fields such as magic, art, etc.

General criteria for judging the proposals
• Relevance to the field and the topic of the conference
• The quality of the offer
• The clarity of the offer
• Originality and innovation
• Validation of information sources

Guidelines for the submission of proposals
The proposals will be submitted to the chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, Dr. Yossi Elran by e-mail: yossi.elran@weizmann.ac.il
The submission guidelines listed below must be followed:

Proposal structure (Word type file)
• The name of the offer - Arial font size 12 (bold, underline)
• The names of the submitters and their institutional affiliation - Arial font size 12 (italics)
• Summary of the proposal - up to 500 words, Arial font size 12 (one and a half line spacing)

B. workshop
1. Participants are invited to conduct a workshop around a round table inside the exhibition hall. In order for us to publish the workshop in advance, a short summary with a description of the proposed workshop must be sent.

1. Participants who wish to set up a stand for the display and/or exchange of mind games, magic and challenges are invited to do so. You must send a request to set up a booth and indicate the purpose of the booth (exchange, display).
