Cooperation between Ben Gurion University and Bioroad Association for the Repatriation of Scientists

A new collaboration was inaugurated between Ben-Gurion University in the Negev and the BioAbroad association for the purpose of bringing back Israeli scientists from the Diaspora and absorbing them into the ranks of the various departments of the university and the National Institute of Biotechnology in the Negev.

As part of the collaboration, the university will publish job ads for senior positions on BioAbroad's unique portal www.BioAbroad.org.il. In addition, researchers from the university who are on mission or sabbatical will meet with the members of the association and the scientists at conferences and professional events and will maintain the important connection to Israel and the university.

The director of the National Institute of Biotechnology in the Negev, Prof. Verda Shoshan-Barmetz stated that "returning scientists to Israel in general and the university and the institute in particular, should be a national goal. I am happy to take a leading step in this noble cause." The member of the executive committee of the Beaubrod association, Dr. Dan Gintzl, said that the association brings together hundreds of Israeli scientists from abroad who wish to return to Israel and integrate into academia and industry. "I am happy about the initiative and the cooperation with Ben-Gurion University and hope that it will lead to further collaborations with universities and companies in the fields of science and medicine," stressed Dr. Gintzl.
