Carbon emissions are only increasing

Despite the warnings of the IPCC, carbon emissions into the atmosphere increased by 3% last year, a frightening increase that will increase global warming

global warming

Forecasts based on the economic recession in the western world expected a decrease in pollutant emissions, the rise in fuel prices was supposed to reduce the use and as a direct result cause a decrease in the amount of greenhouse gases, but the forecasts were wrong.

About a year ago, a "position paper" was published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an intergovernmental body on climate change. According to the document, "failure to comply with a significant reduction in pollutant emissions will lead to devastating results worldwide, following the publication of the document, the body won the Nobel Prize. But it turns out that prizes do not encourage positive activity, since: despite the forecasts, greenhouse gas emissions rose far above expectations. From 2006 to 2007, the amount of carbon dioxide emissions increased by 3%, an increase that is defined as "scary".

To limit the increase in pollutant emissions, forests and oceans that absorb carbon are cut down and polluted and as a result their ability to fulfill the "sponge role" decreases, according to studies the oceans and forests absorb less carbon than they absorbed in the twentieth century!

Until recently, the peak of pollution was the USA. The USA still holds first place in terms of emissions per person. In addition, if in many countries in the western world emissions have decreased, in the US they have increased by 2% in the last two years. China has risen to first place, with more than half of the world's carbon emissions.

It turns out that a significant part of the emissions in China must still be attributed to the 'right' of the USA, since Chinese production for the USA, production that was diverted from the USA to China due to low costs, production of fertilizers, cement and metals that was converted to China partly returns to the USA and so the Burden" is shared between the two polluters. In second place in terms of emissions per person is Russia, followed by India.

China, India and other "developing" countries added their share to the emissions that broke all the records - over 9 billion tons of carbon were added to the atmosphere (the numbers are taken from the climate agencies of the USA, UK and Australia).

Developing countries (including China and India) are not obliged to reduce emissions according to the Kyoto Convention. The US and Russia did not commit to act according to the treaty. In preparation for the extension of the treaty, it will have to be changed since developing countries emit more carbon than the developed western countries, what's more, some European countries have reduced emissions significantly: in Denmark, emissions decreased by 8%, Germany and England by 3%, France and Austria by 2%.

Nature cannot compete with man: in the second half of the last century, the forests and oceans absorbed 57% of the excess carbon in the atmosphere, today the absorption capacity is 54%. According to forecasts based on much lower emission data, the temperature will rise between 3 and 6 degrees. In the updated emissions data, the increase will be faster and higher, and therefore the data is scary.

And with us (how could we not?) the Minister of Infrastructure pushes, his friend the Minister in charge of environmental protection allows and so we continue the "progress" to build a polluting coal-fired power plant.

The time has come that instead of controlling the environment for the sake of the human population, there will be control of the human population for the sake of the environment.

  1. Enough with the lies, the Torah intimidation and those who take a ride on it. Go to a support group "How do I stop poking my nose at what other people are doing"
The evolution of the communists - the greens (allegedly)

  2. European countries have not exactly reduced the amount of emissions
They produce fewer products that cause emissions and buy more finished products from developing countries.
    Everyone works for everyone else

    One does not see

    The other doesn't hear
And the third does not speak.

The approaching peak oil production will only increase the use of cheap coal
Which means more and more emissions

  3. oh good and beautiful
According to the video, there are other and different factors for warming,
And the hysteria is fueled by politics and not concern for the environment,
So let's continue to burn fossil fuel and poison our environment,
Let's continue to cut down forests, let's continue to dry up swamps, streams, lakes and rivers,
Let's continue to destroy populations of corals, mammals, birds, insects and plants,
Let's continue to poison the land, water and air,
In short, let's continue to damage our natural environment,
since the temperatures will rise anyway and the negative changes will happen anyway,
So why don't we add our own?

  4. To Rami Yushobiev, first time I see a video like this. I must state that I feel really betrayed by the media and the IPCC. Is there perhaps some way to bring the video to Israeli television so that more people will see it?

  5. : You won't get to enjoy the popcorn that much.. The popcorn will be nothing compared to the suffering you will experience..
Man! A volcano will swallow you! Be careful! Don't get excited about the end of the world because it will be your end too!

    annoying…

  6. No. 5 is very true. There was, as I imagine, some kind of project that promised the establishment of a solar energy park.
The state should encourage projects of this type and not continue to create from the known bad seller at the expense of the environment.

  7. The connection between the economic crisis in the US and climate change is becoming clear. In both cases there is deep psychological repression, everyone knows how bad the situation is for years, but no one takes responsibility. In both cases the Americans do not take timely action and roll (the debts, the emissions, to other markets ), but at the end of the horizon it is global and there is no escaping it.
Despite the obvious fact that at the end the explosion will come...
Just as the Israeli economy is solid and banks have not been nationalized, so another coal station must be prevented and an investment in clean energy should be made, an investment that will brand Israel as the first green country in the world-

  8. This station must be stopped no matter what. There is a limit to the environmental mistakes that this country insists on making. I'm no longer talking about Route 6 that passes me behind Beitz

  9. I recently heard someone cite a study according to which the increase in temperatures we feel today is a result of the emission of greenhouse gases during the industrial revolution, and future generations are the ones who will 'enjoy' what we do today. I don't know if this quote is true, but without a doubt what we are feeling now is only the beginning of this scary process.
