Bar-Ilan University launches "Bar-Deat" - a university podcast application. Every year the use of podcasts increases significantly, in the last two years the use of podcasts in the world has increased by 60%, and the expectation is for 1.8 billion listeners by 2023. Today, over 225 million people listen every week. About 38% listen to podcasts more than 5 days a week, 35% of them via mobile.

The development process of Bar-Ilan University's "Bar-Deat" application took about a year, and at the end of it, in addition to the development of a dedicated application, recordings of nearly 130 researchers were completed, on general and topical issues. The contents of the app are divided into different categories: science for a change, society and economy, influencing tomorrow, law and order, near and far east, written words, doing spirit, body and soul, something historical, and even a category for English-speaking listeners.

Along with a rich variety of content, relevant to the ongoing corona crisis, you can also find content on general topics such as: medical marijuana, can science prolong life? Was Rambam ahead of his time? Is the cure for cancer in our body? What is the criminal mastermind? and more.

The new application is another channel for the transfer of the university's academic knowledge outside the campus. The contents of the application are diverse in terms of fields such as exact sciences, life sciences, humanities and social sciences. The podcasts are available for listening to anyone, anytime and anywhere.
