For many years, writers, researchers and adventurers wrestled with the myth of the island of Atlantis. They asked if the place really existed or if it was just a legend. Now, according to new research, the answer to all questions may have been found: Ireland is Atlantis.

It was the Greek philosopher Plato who first wrote about the island of Atlantis in 360 BC. He described a place with an advanced population that had developed 11,500 years earlier. The island itself was hit by a huge natural disaster and fell into the abyss.

The Swedish geographer, Olaf Arlingson, investigated the issue of Atlantis, and in a new study to be published next month, he concluded that today's Ireland is ancient Atlantis. According to him, the dimensions, geography and ground surface of the two places are almost exactly the same.

"I checked data from all over the world, and of the 50 largest islands, only one is flat in the center like Atlantis - Ireland," said the researcher.

The story got mixed up in another memory

According to him, the myth of the sinking of Atlantis stems from the fate of the isolated island, Dogger Bank, which lies in the North Sea, 100 km northeast of the coast of England and sank around 6,100 BC. "I think the memory of Dogger Bank has been preserved in Ireland for 3,000 years and mixed with the story of Atlantis," Arlingson said.

Over the years, various estimates have been published regarding the location of Atlantis. Some researchers placed it near the Azores, 1,500 km from Portugal, and others in the Aegean Sea, near Greece. There were also those who claimed that it was a figment of Plato's imagination.

  1. for your information!!! Plato attributed his words to an island near Greece.
Why would Plato see a spectacle of an island sinking and he would not be hurt.
And speaking of sinking islands, there are also flat islands in Greece!!!
And such a thing called tide!!!
Ireland is very far from Greece at the opposite end of Europe how did Plato get there how according to the Swedish researcher did he know that the center of the island is flat and if we say that Atlantis is really Ireland where did Plato watch this spectacle!?
It cannot be from Britain - the distance between Britain and Ireland is like between Israel and Cyprus - and we in Israel do not see Cyprus.

  2. Atlantis descended into the depths of the sea in the Atlantic Ocean area about 12000 years ago. The rest of the exodus split up, some of them migrated to Egypt, took over Arab-Rav who was there and became the hermetic dynasty of the pharaohs.
In fact Homer 'imported' the mythology of the gods' lineages/as evolved ancestors/fallen ones, from there.
It seems to me that the Celts in Ireland are much more humble than the pharaonic Atlantean Nephilim who 'took over' Egypt.

  3. According to Plato, Atlantis is between the Pillars of Hercules (probably referring to the Strait of Gibraltar)
