About an hour after the doors opened, shuttle crew members Caldwell Dyson and Piers Sellers used the robotic arm to move the cargo carrier from the shuttle's cargo deck to the cargo transportation system on the outside of the station. This will make it possible to adjust the location of the equipment as needed
This evening (17:28 Israel time) shuttle commander Ken Ham docked the shuttle in airlock No. 2 in the Ramoni component of the International Space Station. Both spacecraft were at that moment at an altitude of about 350 km above the South Pacific Ocean.
The ferry and station crews opened the doors around 19:30 and held the traditional ceremony in which they welcomed the members of the ferry crew. As is known, the commander Oleg Kutov and the flight engineers Alexander Skvortsov and Mikhail Kurinenko - all three from Russia - are currently staying at the station, as well as Soichi Noguchi from Japan and T.G. Kramer and Tracey Dyson of NASA.

Other shuttle astronauts - Garrett Raisman, Michael Good and Steve Bowen will transfer the spacesuits and spacewalk equipment to the Quest airlock and begin preparing for the first spacewalk that will take place today.

Yes, they are stingy 🙂
Question: Why are many of the images broadcast from space missions released in such low quality?
After all, NASA, at the forefront of technology, is supposed to take every picture with the highest quality cameras available.
Is there a reason for this?
Correction, the beautiful transition is expected to be tomorrow, on the eve of Shavuot.
Today is supposed to be a really beautiful passage of the space station in the sky -

Although there are many chances of cloudy skies that will hide us 🙁
Does anyone know how many astronauts are there right now?
Thanks!
