Yesterday, 21/2/11 at 22:30 West Coast time in the USA {22.12, 8:30 Israel time}, the "Wall" administration, which operates within the framework of the Administration for Research, Development and Technological Infrastructure (MPA) of The Israeli Ministry of Defense, together with the American Missile Defense Agency (MDA), conducted a successful systemic test of an "Arrow" weapon system with improved capabilities. This is the eighteenth flight test of an interceptor from the "Arrow" missile family. The experiment was carried out from an American experimental field located on the western coast of the USA.

In this experiment, new capabilities were tested that were assigned to the currently operational components of the "Hatz" weapon system. These capabilities allow the existing components of the weapon system to deal more effectively with future threats to the State of Israel. This is a complementary experiment to a successful experiment, which took place in Israel in April 2009, and demonstrated the new components added to the weapon system.

The target, which simulates a threat that Israel could face, was launched from a naval platform in the heart of the Pacific Ocean towards the coast. The system, which was working in its operational configuration, detected the threat with the help of the "Oran Yerok" radar, transmitted the threat data to the shooting management center which calculated a defense plan against it. The defense plan was transferred to the launcher which launched the experimental interceptor. The test interceptor successfully performed all phases of the flight, acquired the target and destroyed it at the designated point.

The experiment was attended by representatives of the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Israeli Air Force, as well as representatives of the American Department of Defense and the industries involved in the development of the weapons system.
The success of the experiment is an important milestone in the operational ability of the State of Israel to defend itself also against the threats expected in the arena.

The main contractor for the development of the weapon system and the "Arrow" interceptor is the MLM plant of the Aerospace Industry in cooperation with Elta, which developed the "Oran Yerok" radar, Tadiran Systems, which developed the "Etrog Zahav" fire management center, and the Boeing company, which participated in the process of manufacturing components for the interceptor "arrow".

Defense Minister Ehud Barak congratulated the success of the experiment "This is an important milestone in the effort that the defense system invests in the development of an active and multi-layered defense system. It joins the success of the Iron Dome last week. The citizens of the State of Israel can be proud that Israel is the leading country in the world in the field of multi-layered defense against Missiles".

The Director General of the Ministry of Defense noted the close and important cooperation with the American defense establishment in regards to the development of missile defense systems, and thanked the personnel of the Wall Administration, Mpaat and the defense industries for the creativity, resourcefulness and great investment that allow Israel to be at the forefront of technologies.

The Minister of Defense visited the aerospace industry and congratulated the developers of the arrow: "We are finishing a visit to the aerospace industry during which we learned about extraordinary achievements in various fields and impressive capabilities in the air, at sea, on land and in space. The IEA makes a tremendous contribution to the status of the State of Israel as a leading security factor and also to the country's economy in terms of exports and employment for families.

Thank you to the chairman of the board Yair Shamir, to the CEO Yitzhak Nissan and to the employees for allowing us to see up close the variety of your abilities.

This morning, on the other side of the world, an unusually successful test of the "Arrow" weapon system was carried out. Improvements designed to intercept future threats were implemented in the experiment.
This is a success of the "Wall" administration of the Ministry of Defense, of the Aerospace Industry and other Israeli industries involved in this achievement. The successful experiment advances us towards a successful multi-layered defense system. Thanks to everyone who was involved in the experiment."

  1. To understand a few things, these missiles are launched from trucks, each missile needs to be fueled for at least 20 minutes, the trucks
Exposed at this time, at this moment planes are launched according to the intelligence,
I really don't want to publish data here on how many targets the radar can acquire at once, but dozens of missiles
In any case it is not possible for Hizbullah to launch at once, he can.
Let's not talk about the fact that a number of arrow batteries, mushroom batteries, satellite radars, TAD missiles (the American "Arrow") and the Aegis missile ship are deployed in Israel.
The system is built for big scenarios, and the IDF trains every day for such things.
In terms of the budget, we will not collapse financially because the US is funding the Arrow project anyway.

  2. Even if Israel knows about an arms shipment going from Syria to Hezbollah, it will do nothing. And that's it
Exactly what happened and what is happening.
Hezbollah didn't just arm itself with hundreds of precision missiles that passed unhindered from Iran to Syria and from there to Hezbollah.
Hiballah has created an effective deterrent against Israel, these are not the small tycoons of Hamas.

Unfortunately, only serious deterrence on the other hand - what is actually happening, or a preemptive attack (something that has not been carried out since
The six days (due to the fear of the world's reaction), will make it possible to live here in relative peace.

Amos Yaron, who was a general and director general of the Ministry of Defense, once said that one should live as best as possible between the wars
Because they were and will be our share in the future as well

  3. Oh yes, and Obama's United States was trusted by both Hariri who was betrayed and Mubarak who was betrayed...within one week..
Also, the American forces who are supposed to oversee the peace between us and Egypt in Sinai folded their tails and fled in riots..
    Trust him...Obama is not Bush.

  4. Not Eran..but I am Eran..alert..and I'm sorry but I agree with Eran..
It has already been explained in a very simple way that to have enough inventory of the relatively cheap Iron Dome missiles for everything that only Hamas has means that we are economically impoverished...because each one costs about 100000 the last time I saw...

Unfortunately, the simplest thing would be to do barrages with uranium.. there is no need at all to have nuclear fission.. think for yourself that even if an area of 30 square meters inside Gush Dan is contaminated with radiation, no one will live in the entire square kilometer of this area just for safety's sake..
If they fire a salvo at the same time from both Hezbollah for cover and from Iran and Syria, Eran is XNUMX percent right, we have no way to stop it...
The only thing that can be done is to make them understand how painful our reaction will be and that can only be with the help of the weapons that everyone "knows" that we don't have...nuclear.

There are not enough missiles and batteries in production to deal with such a large barrage.. and as Sharan says... one such missile is enough to hit accurately..

Unfortunately, I support the approach of extremism.. Before there is good here, there must be worse here... This is the only way we will put into our Jewish stone heads what kind of world we live in and that only we can take care of ourselves.

  5. Eran,

May I know how you determined it?
I hate people who underestimate this amazing defense system we have,
I happen to know the system closely, and we have a defense system that many countries would envy,
Let's not talk about the fact that it is the fruit of Israeli development, a bit of a favor.
The arrow system has amazing capabilities, as you noticed, this is the 18th experiment! why? Because every moment
Changes are being made to the system, the system is being upgraded according to the requirements of the threat
From experiment to experiment the radar became stronger, the interception capability improved, the number of missiles doubled and almost tripled,
It's no longer layers of defense, it's deployment of defense + US cooperation in case of need.

  6. Eran, there are 2 problems with the script you propose:
    1. The transfer of hundreds of missiles to Syria by an Iranian warship without Israel being aware of it and without it doing anything about it (as we know, the ships that passed through the Suez Canal recently did not carry weapons).
    2. In a similar way, but in a much more significant way, the transfer of these missiles from Syria to the Hezbollah base in such a way that Israel will not be aware of it and will not be able to respond (the bombing of the convoy, for example).

  7. Iran is dealing with the capability in the following way: a battleship will bring hundreds of new long-range precision missiles to Syria from where they will be transferred to a Hezbollah base in Lebanon.
Israel does not have the ability and will not have the ability to deal with barrages of dozens of precision missiles on Kriya.
No matter how many layers of protection there are.
