The communication satellite "Amos" 3 produced by the Aerospace Industry (TAA) was launched into space today, at 08:00 Israel time. The satellite was launched using a Zenit launcher from the launch site in Baikonur, Kazakhstan.

In the afternoon the control system of the satellite was activated and it entered its orbit as planned. The engineers of the aerospace industry continue at this time also to check the various systems of the satellite.

The satellite is now on its way to its final position in space (4 degrees West). The initial tests of the satellite systems show that they are working. The activity of putting the satellite into orbit and continuing the tests are carried out according to the plan. On the way, it will stop for a stopover at a different point where its systems will be tested, without disturbing the existing satellites.

The Director General of the IAEA, Yitzhak Nissan, said a few minutes ago: "The Amos 3 satellite launched today will join the Amos 1 and Amos 2 satellites which were also built by the IAEA. "Amos 3" is at the forefront of communication satellite technology in the world and this is another impressive achievement of the Aerospace Industry, which is the main contractor of all satellite programs in the State of Israel. TEA has impressive and proven achievements of success in space - all satellites exceeded the lifespan promised to our customers and performed beyond expectations. We are proud of these achievements, which prove the high technological level of the TEA, a company in a very limited and prestigious club of companies that build and operate satellites in space."

The Amos 3 satellite was built for Spacecom, the operator of the Amos 1 and 2 satellites, which offers a wide range of broadcasting and broadband communication services. The company's service areas include Europe, the Middle East and North America, and provide transatlantic connectivity between the East Coast of the United States and the Middle East. The "Amos 3" satellite, with its improved capabilities, will make it possible to expand the range of services offered by Space Communications.

The TAA is currently developing "Amos 4" - the next-generation communications satellite - for the Space Communications Company, which will significantly increase the Space Company's ability to provide a variety of communications services to its customers.

The Aerospace Industry (IAI) is the "House of Space Systems" of the State of Israel. In the last ten months, the Mabat Space Plant of the Israel Defense Forces launched three satellites into space, among them the TecSAR satellite: an advanced radar imaging satellite that operates successfully and provides high quality images. In addition, the TAA now simultaneously operates eight satellites and is developing the next generations of observation satellites.

The Amos 3 satellite of the Aerospace Industry is launched using the "Zenith" launcher from the launch site in Baikonur, Kazakhstan.

  1. To my father, the editor of the website, how do they hide the 17th crew in the space station for such a long time, sorry, this is not related to the news, thanks Noam

  2. This is what I found in the search

For anyone who asked the origin of the name Amos is:
At first they wanted to call it AMS, which is an abbreviation of the area it is intended to cover - the African arena and the MAZ, and then they turned it into a larger project with the government's guarantee and changed it to AMOS, which would also have a Zionist tone
