Science Minister Ofir Akunis met today with four brides and grooms of the Nobel Prize in Science from Israel - Prof. Ada Yonat, Prof. Israel Robert Uman, Prof. Michael Levitt and Prof. Aharon Chachanover. The minister asked to hear from them proposals regarding the future of the country in the field of science and ways to preserve Israel as a pioneering and innovative country. "You are a source of pride for the State of Israel and have brought us great honor. From you, who have reached the highest peaks, we need to learn, and we need to listen to you."
Among the proposals put forward: conducting more joint research with countries around the world, creating national systems in the field of science, charting new directions for science infrastructure, increasing investment in young researchers from whom many of the discoveries come, changing the science curriculum from the current configuration to an integrated configuration of chemistry, biology and physics, distributing tablets to children and more.
Prof. Ada Yonat won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2009, Prof. Michael Levitt is the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2014, Prof. Israel Oman is the recipient of the Swedish Central Bank's Alfred Nobel Prize in Economics for 2005 and Prof. Aharon Chakhanover is the recipient of Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2004.

The state does not subsidize education like in Europe
It won't help even if he listens. He has the mind of a Likudnik who is unable to grasp anything. What did the Minister of Science name him? It's like putting, say, Miri Regev for example as the Minister of Culture.
I think that another very good way to preserve Israel as a pioneering country and a leader in innovation is to invest the money, intended for the advancement of science in Israel, only in students, students and other scientists.
Not every person (and no matter what age) can help advance the world of science.
There are people who don't connect and don't like it, and they should be promoted to areas that do speak to them.
Don't try to force students to get an education in any field.
Education is like a "suit" - it's okay to ask all students to measure, but not to force a student to wear a suit that doesn't fit him!
The study material is "abstract material" - there is no limit in terms of the changes that can be made to it in order to adapt it to the student.
Invest money in it!!
To "tailor" the study material to the measurements of each individual student, including removing study materials (and even entire subjects, whatever they may be, in the 21st century we must stop the fixed "compulsory subjects") that do not "suit" him well from his schedule and put them in their place the materials yes.
Do you want students to excel? - this is the way ! (One student will graduate from XNUMXth grade as a mathematician and another student will graduate as a painter, one is not better than the other, just a different direction).
Adaptation of educational material will be done through tests that check the basic individual abilities of each student and learning from this what will suit him to study, and also checking his opinions and desires regarding learning the subjects that the school can offer.
For my part, a student will study only one subject during his 12 years of study, but will finish XNUMXth grade with a master's degree or a doctorate.
The state should invest money in intelligence, literally!
