18 unemployed engineers were absorbed by the "Elbit Systems" company after undergoing retraining at the continuing education unit at the Technion, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Employment.
"Elbit Systems" has identified in the labor market a growing shortage of Real Time engineers, and hardware engineers who are having difficulty finding work. This is how the initiative to train these engineers at the Technion was born, and a special program was built to train them in the continuing studies unit at the Technion. The thesis of the 18 engineers dealt with fields close to the fields of activity of "Elbit Systems".
The continuing education unit at the Technion specializes in developing and organizing intra-organizational retraining and training programs for engineers, engineers and academics in many fields, and it operates at the Technion in Haifa and a branch in Tel Aviv.
The program's graduation ceremony and the distribution of certificates will take place today, June 21, at 13.00:XNUMX p.m., at the "Elbit Systems" company.

The Minister of Science of Serbia, Professor Aleksandar Popovic, and the Minister of Science and Technology, Culture and Sports of Israel, Ofir Paz-Fines, yesterday (Tuesday) opened a scientific conference held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technion. The Russell Berry Center for Nanotechnology Research at the Technion organizes the conference in collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Science.
Minister Pines said that 80 Israeli companies are already operating in Serbia, an important country in Europe because of its location and natural wealth. The Serbian minister said that Israel is an example of a country that lacks natural resources, surrounded by unfriendly countries, that managed to reach a leading position in the world because it knew how to invest in science. "Investing in science is investing in the economy," he said. "Serbia can learn a lot from Israel."
The conference discusses research in nano and micro technology carried out in Serbia and Israel, and is attended by researchers from the leading universities in both countries.
