Yesterday (Tuesday) technologies from 10 prominent Israeli start-up companies in the field of climate innovation, which offer solutions in diverse fields in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, were presented at the Israeli pavilion at the climate summit in Sharm el-Sheikh at a special event organized by the Innovation Authority, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Plantech and promote solutions for adapting and preparing for climate change. International parties took part in the event, including venture capital funds specializing in the climate field, entrepreneurs and multinational corporations, and companies with synergistic activity for Israeli technologies, who came to hear about the innovative Israeli technologies, alongside Israelis.
The companies were selected for presentation in the Israeli pavilion at the climate conference, which has the theme of innovation at its center, emphasizing Israel's technological contribution to solutions to the climate crisis.
The technologies presented this morning in the pavilion:
- Company H2 Pro, which has developed a production technology that enables widespread adoption of sustainable hydrogen fuel.
- Company GenCell, which manufactures, sells and services fuel cell based power solutions. The company's on-demand hydrogen generation process from excess ammonia enables its fuel cell solutions to provide primary power for off-grid and poor-grid telecoms, as well as rural electrification.
- The company UBQ Materials, which has developed a conversion technology that turns household waste into a green thermoplastic material, with the goal of replacing oil-based plastics in the production of thousands of everyday products.
- Company wiliot, which represents tags that can be printed in the size of a stamp and are intended for monitoring products from the production stage until they are sent to the customer's home.
- The HomeBiogas company, which develops easy-to-use biogas systems that allow people and businesses to turn their organic waste into self-produced clean energy, on site.
- Groundwork Company BioAg, a global bio-agriculture company, leveraging the natural power of mycorrhizal fungi to improve the productivity, sustainability and profitability of commercial agriculture and expand regenerative agriculture practices.
- Aleph Farms, which produces real steaks from isolated cow cells.
- Company Remilk, which develops real dairy products without the involvement of animals.
- Company beewise, offers autonomous hives that operate with minimal human intervention by using precision robotics driven by artificial intelligence. The company's solution automates all bee activity in order to increase the yield, reduce colony loss and eliminate the use of chemical pesticides.
- Company tomorrow.io, which provides actionable weather insights around the world. Their mission is to equip humanity with the most accurate and comprehensive weather intelligence required to adapt and thrive in an era of climate crisis.
Uriel Keller, CEO of PLANETech: "Today we are presenting the front of technological innovation that is already helping to deal with the climate crisis around the world. The companies that will present at the UN climate conference in Sharm el-Sheikh will help position Israel as a global leader in the climate-tech field, and will be an inspiration for entrepreneurs who wish to establish companies in the most significant and growing field of high-tech. In the past year, the climate-tech field in Israel has become the hottest topic in high-tech, and is attracting many entrepreneurs and investors, even those who do not come from the climate field. Galit Cohen, Director General of the Ministry of Environmental Protection: "Dealing with the climate crisis requires thinking outside the box, so it is only natural that the State of Israel, known as the start-up nation, will present innovative solutions and technologies to deal with the climate crisis. We are happy about the connection we were able to make here between business entities, venture capital funds and the government. The combination of the forces of all the bodies will lead to the finding of the new technologies, which will bring the State of Israel to zero net emissions by 2050, as already committed at the previous climate conference."
