The Physics Olympiad that was moved from the Technion to the Judea and Samaria Academic College has closed

The Physics Olympiad that was held this year at the Judea and Samaria Academic College, due to the events of the war, closed at the end of the week with the selection of the 16 winners for the international competition in China

Last Friday came to an end the Physics Olympiad that was hosted for the past two weeks at the Judea and Samaria Academic College in Ariel. The college responded to the request of Dr. Eli Raz from the Technion and agreed to host the Olympics this year due to the war in the north. The students participating in the Olympiad and the team of teachers and their instructors from the Technion stayed in the student dormitories for two weeks and held the competition in the sophisticated physics laboratories of the college.

In the first stage of the Olympiad, about 2,000 students from about 100 high schools from all over the country participated, and of those, the 35 who excelled advanced to the final stage held at the college. On Friday, the 16 winners were chosen to be the team that will represent Israel in China. Amos On, Asher Brauner, Daniel Dribin, Gilad Weiss, Yonatan Zenger, Dan Carmon, Yuval Lemberg, Dafna Naman, Valdi Narobliansky, Yakir Sodri, Yonatan Piatt, Itai Flicker, Uri Keenan, Dror Roth, Assaf Shapira, Michael Shapira.

More than 400 students representing 85 countries will participate in the International Olympics in Shanghai.

The competition is being held for the 15th year in a row and the graduates of the competition for generations constitute the cutting edge of the industry in Israel, housing the "Talfiot" project and the best universities in the world.

The Israeli Olympiad is organized by the Technion, the department for teaching technology and science. The project is headed by Dr. Eli Raz, from the Department of Physics at the Technion.

Yigal Cohen Orgad, chairman of the college's executive committee stated: "We were very happy that the Technion chose us to host the Olympics this year, the competitors and the judging team noted the high level of the sophisticated laboratories at the college. I am glad that we were able to help the Technion during the difficult hours of the war. I wish success to the team that will represent us in China."
