Researchers' Night at the Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem. Tuesday 19.9.06 between the hours of 17:00 and 22:00. free admission.

An unmediated meeting between an interested audience and researchers from the Hebrew University and the young hi-tech industry. Researchers' Night is a project of the European Union and its goal is to bring science closer to society in Israel. A parallel event will be held in all European countries. In Israel, the project takes place under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, in the various universities and science museums throughout the country. The event convenes an informal meeting, conversation, and discussion between youth and adults interested in researchers from academia and industry.

In the program:

• At 18:00 – Prof. Jacob Beckenstein, on: Gravitation after Einstein

Jacob Bekenstein, Rakah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, winner of the 2005 Israel Prize and member of the National Academy of Sciences. The meeting will take place at the Einstein exhibition.

• At 19:00 - Prof. Dafna Atlas, on: development of new drugs for degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and diabetes.

Dafna Atlas, Department of Biological Chemistry, Institute of Life Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The meeting will take place at a drug exhibition.

• At 20:00 - Prof. Udi de Shalit, on: Equations without solutions.

Udi de Shalit, head of the mathematics department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The meeting will take place at a mathematics exhibition in the museum.

• At 21:00 - Dr. Amir Ben Shalom: "Only what you see" - about electronic displays in consumer products
