Yehuda Sabdarmish/ Evolution of creationism

Yehuda Sabdarmish

I would like to state in advance to all readers that your faithful servant, the author of this article, is a complete believer in Darwin's theory of evolution and a follower of any kind of evolution, such as evolution of theories (see a file of my articles), evolution of universes, evolution in art and more. And not only that, but I also showed that all the above-mentioned evolutions behave like biological evolution.
But still I cannot ignore an evolutionary development that has been causing me for several months, much trouble in my sincere belief in Darwinian evolution. For the sake of good order, I must point out the fact that this problematic was received from conversations that I had with many during the comments on the science website, among them Lior Shani. There is no doubt that he and others contributed to the issue.

The following is the thought process:-

1. It is clear to me that all existing creatures develop in an evolutionary way,
2. From this it follows that eventually intelligent production will develop without the need for creativity.
3. The aforementioned intelligent production will be smart enough to increase its survivability by building machines,
4. We will of course very quickly reach a stage where intelligent production, in our case - man, will begin to create robots
5. And it is clear that there will also be a development in the construction of robots from simple machines to very intelligent creature-like machines.

And now the important question is asked that causes me to be in a lot of trouble:-

Can we build a robot, (creature?), that will have consciousness?.

This question contains an internal trap in which any answer will not fit the usual evolutionary approach. What is meant by?

If we answer this question that man will never be able to build production - a self-aware robot, then we have set a limit to evolution for no real reason, as if there is a limit to evolutionary development, and really why would evolution stop?.

On the other hand, if we decide that this is not the case, and man can build an intelligent production, here we will be in an even more serious logical problem because we will actually be the creator of this production, so...

Why shouldn't someone be our creator - the human race? That is,

Does the creationist claim have anything to rely on???

Note that in addition, creationism appears as the highest development of human evolution!

This problem, in one form or another, has already appeared many times in the scientific literature. He brought as an example Prof. Yakir Shoshani's book "Thoughts on Reason", which discusses the subject extensively. I will quote a small section from the chapter "Artificial Intelligence" in the book.

"In the community of philosophers, scientists and engineers, who work in the field called "artificial intelligence", there are differences of opinion regarding the question: Will man ever succeed in building a robot that can imitate human intelligence in all its aspects and even surpass it? In his book "The Age of Spiritual Machines", Kurzweil predicts that in 2019 a computer will be developed with a cost of 1000 dollars that will have a computational ability similar to that of a human, and in 2029 a computer with such a cost will have the ability of 1000 human minds. In his estimation, in 2099 it will not be possible to point to any clear advantage of human intelligence over that of the computer. Is there a reasonable basis for this amazing prediction? It is true that today's computers are very far from such a capability, but is there any rational argument according to which this will be impossible in the future as well? End quote

I must state again that I believe in evolution, but I don't know how to reconcile the contradiction and maybe.... There is no contradiction here, and creationism is really a logical and reality-bound stage of evolution.

I lay this problem at the feet of creationists and Darwinists and I would like to know what their opinion would be to satisfy the contradiction that appears here.

Please respond gently, and please don't call me a traitor.

Website editor's notes:
1. This particular article is the responsibility of the author.
2. We would know how to differentiate between a creature that developed in evolution and a creature that was created by another intelligent creature in a simple way: living creatures have many shortcomings. A planned creature would be free of them, certainly if it were some kind of robot. Such a creature would also not be obliged to the compromises and patchwork solutions that evolution has specialized in adapting existing organs to new uses.
3. There is no difference between man and other animals, neither in the degree of genetic variation nor in the way of reproduction. Man is an animal after all. If he were a living creature, he would have to be different in some way from the other animals and then, for example, drugs that are tested on mice would not be suitable for humans.

One response

  1. I would like to comment on Yehuda Sabdarmish's article / Evolution of creationism, and especially his implicit conclusion "Why shouldn't someone be our creator - the human race?". I mean, does the creationists' claim have anything to rely on???"
We cannot draw an equal conclusion and compare the evolution of building robots, no matter how sophisticated they may be, and even with any consciousness, to the evolution of nature, one of whose most important characteristics is reproduction.
Does the author of the article believe that the most advanced science and technology will ever be able to create robots capable of reproduction?
Robots will always remain machines, like cars or computers and no matter what level of sophistication they will have.
According to this, the claim of the creationists has nothing to rely on.
