Writer Ray Bradbury, who wrote the book "Fahrenheit 451", demands that director Michael Moore change the name of his documentary film "Fahrenheit 9/11", which won the Palme d'Or at the last Cannes Film Festival. Bradbury claims Moore used the name without asking his permission, and demands an apology.
The 83-year-old Bradbury's science fiction novel, adapted in 1966 into a film directed by François Truffaut, depicts a society where the fire department burns down libraries to prevent people from reading. The book is called that because 451 Fahrenheit is the temperature at which books burn.
Bradbury claimed that he tried to call Moore about six months before the film was released, but the director only got back to him a few days ago. The author said he prefers to avoid the courts and hopes they can settle the matter between them. Bradbury's book will be reprinted in about two months.
