The president of the Israel National Academy of Sciences, Prof. David Harel, said that "the academy is proud to award the scholarship founded by the entrepreneur Marcel Adams for 18 years, may his memory be blessed, and warmly congratulates the scholars of the 2022-2023 class. This important and blessed enterprise has steadily produced some of our most brilliant researchers, in the fields of natural sciences, life sciences, mathematics, computer sciences and engineering sciences. Its graduates have integrated with great success in Israeli and foreign academia, in the high-tech and biotech industries, as well as in the health care system. Alongside this, the many publications penned by the fellows and graduates were published in the most important scientific journals in the world."

Prof. Harel emphasized that the graduates of the scholarship program go on to post-doctorate specializations at the most prestigious universities in the world. "The stable and extensive investment of the Adams family in young and talented scientists strengthens and promotes Israeli science, and every year it is intriguing to find out which candidates are the most outstanding and will make up the new team of scholars - names that in most cases should be remembered for the future." So far, 155 promising young Israeli researchers have received the prestigious scholarship.

The late Mr. Marcel Adams (1920-2020) from Montreal founded the scholarship fund named after him at the Israel National Academy of Sciences in 2005. Adams was an enthusiastic Zionist. He was born in Romania in 1920, and during World War II he was imprisoned in a labor camp established by the Nazis. He managed to escape from it and immigrated to Israel, and even fought in the War of Independence. In 1951 he moved to Canada, and seven years later he founded his real estate company, which grew and expanded over the years. He founded the scholarship enterprise to return the favor to the country where he found refuge. Adams died in the summer of 2020 at the age of 100.

"The Adams Scholarship Program is the philanthropic legacy project of my late father, and I am honored to represent him in our congratulations to the new class of Adams Scholars. My father believed deeply in education, even though he was prevented from realizing his dream of acquiring a higher education due to the outbreak of World War II and the events of the Holocaust in his native Romania. I congratulate the impressive group of Adams scholars for this year and wish them academic and personal success in the process of receiving their doctorates", said the family representative, Sylvan Adams.

This year the seminar hosted Prof. Noam Sobel, head of the Azrieli National Institute for Imaging and Research of the Human Brain at the Weizmann Institute of Science, who delivered the lecture: Blood Sweat and Tears: Human Social Chemosignaling in Health and Disease

  1. Hello there!! Dear people!!
I am Kirchner Yaakov Hagar in Harish, in a second marriage, quite successful (except for a woman with a general disability who has already undergone three head surgeries in Ichilov, due to congenital hydrocephalus, and the situation worsened!!), after a disaster, the murder of my first wife, the mother of my children, who are now adults, one of whom is a doctor, PhD student, in Pennsylvania, USA. and three more scholars in Israel.
Today I am 61 years old, I really want to fulfill an old dream of mine, over 30 years old, to study for a bachelor's degree.
I was accepted this year for the organization program at Ono Academy, but I had to withdraw about a month ago, almost at the end of the first semester. The first semester is 5 semesters, a special program for organizations. I am a student, one of the best, very popular at Ono Academy, and they even gave me academic support, because I have been diagnosed with ADHD Concentration, patient. I am not able to finance the program at the moment, and would like to find some kind of fund to finance my studies. I really want to continue, and I am asking you, if you can help me with this. I really liked Adama's article, from a few weeks ago in the newspaper, and the sentence::" This money Not ours, the world's rich!!, it is designed to help people who need it!!" , a sentence of Adama that really bought me, and I believe that many more souls. I am asking for your help in this matter, because I believe that the founder, the late Marcel, would also like to donate scholarships for the purpose of studies, like mine.
Love, waiting for an answer, and to address my personal request. Thank you.
