Dr. Abdel-Hamid Al-Ansari, former dean of the Faculty of Islamic Law at Qatar University, wrote in the Qatari daily "Al-Raya" an article criticizing the Arab conspiracy theory, which holds that the Jews and the Mossad are responsible for the September 2001, 1 attacks, and claimed that the roots of this theory rooted in the Muslim tradition and the founding writings of Islam.[XNUMX] Below are parts of his article:
"The third anniversary of the tragedy of the eleventh of September has passed and the Arab world is still asking itself who is behind it? Despite the clear evidence and the numerous confessions and investigations... the Arabs are not ready to be convinced that those who were behind the act are a group of us - 'the revered nineteen' as they were called last year by the fundamentalists at their conference in London. The Arabs continue to insist on their innocence and accuse the Mossad of planning the act in order to start an aggressive war against the Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq... but the story conflicts with the fact that the Jews are cowards and do not commit suicide, so the theory has been revised and it is claimed that the Mossad planned and financed [the action] and a group of our innocent young people were kidnapped and hunted by the Mossad and they are the ones who carried it out [the act in his mission].
I don't know how long the [Muslim] arrogance will continue. Why do we not want to admit that these young people are sons of a culture hostile to the world and are not stupid or crazy. No one tempted them and they did not suffer from oppression, oppression or poverty. They committed the act due to their belief that it was jihad and self-sacrifice. These are our young people and our sons and they are under our responsibility. We are the ones who stole their future and committed a crime in relation to them because of our backward education, because of our harmful halachic opinions, because of our inciting preachers' platforms and because of our violent media. We are the ones who failed to give their existence value and meaning and did not make life better for them than death. We prevented them from dying for the sake of Allah and we did not teach them how to live for the sake of Allah. Until when will we make life hell for our young people? How long will we continue to repeat the record [talking about] the American injustice and the global injustice towards us as a poor justification for the violence and terrorism in our midst as if we are the only nation that has been wronged...
Why, in fact, are we the only nation fascinated by the theory that a Jewish conspiracy is behind the events? Why is the conspiracy tree confusing in our land?... and why are we still prisoners of theories whose falsity has been proven?... In my opinion, the theory has very deep roots related to aspects related to faith, historical factors and political circumstances. Among the reasons [for the conspiracy theory]:
The words of the Koran regarding the tricks of the Israelites against their prophets and against the other nations.
The words of the boat [the biography of the Prophet Muhammad] in connection with the dangerous conspiratorial role [of the Jews] already in ancient times against Islam, against the Prophet Muhammad and against the Muslims and their new empire.
The things that fill the books of [Muslim] heritage... according to which behind the great conflicts [among Muslims] stands the Jew Abdullah bin Saba[2]. These conflicts broke the power of the Muslims and that is why in our study programs we make sure... to remain silent and skip the political differences of opinion and the armed conflicts regarding power and government that arose among the Prophet's friends and they are all [presented] as exercising halachic judgment, as loyal and righteous. These conflicts [are presented as if] happened only due to the machinations of Ibn Saba the Jew and therefore he is responsible and to blame. As we know, historical research has proven that Ibn Saba is a legendary figure, and even if we assume that he existed, it is impossible that any person, no matter how cunning, had such an important and exaggerated role [in the history of Islam]. [If we believe this] we assume that the companions of the Prophet were so careless and naive that one Jew managed to deceive them and thus we establish, as it were, that the Jews are geniuses in an inhuman way.
The things that our culture instills in the souls and minds of the Muslims because the Jews are the source of evil in the world. It seems that we are the only nation that still believes that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are genuine, even though they were compiled by Russian intelligence to abuse Russian Jews during the imperial days [as written] by the expert on Jewish affairs, Abd al-Wahhab al-Masiri, in his famous encyclopedia.
The things said in the stories of the end of days about an eternal conflict between the Arabs and the Jews until the Day of Judgment, when a Jew will hide behind [the tree] and the stone, and she will say [to the Muslim], 'O servant of Allah, O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.' These traditions make the Muslim suspicious and he interprets every case as if a Jew is behind it. This is why Sheikh Fachalallah and others did not rule out the possibility that Jews had a part in the tragic incident that happened at the school in Bislan.

These are the deep roots that control the arbitrariness in us and the way we paint the world around us. Is there a way to bypass them in order to better understand and diagnose more accurately what happened and what is happening in our complicated world?"

[2] Abdullah bin Saba was a Jew who converted to Islam and saw a divine element in the personality of the fourth Muslim successor, Ali bin Abu Taleb. Some attribute to him the laying of the foundations for the Shia faith and some claim that he is a legendary figure invented by the enemies of Shia who seek to prove that it is not true Islam and originated in Judaism. He is also credited with incitement against the third Muslim caliph, Atman bin Affan, which led to the caliph's murder.

Egyptian intellectual: Study programs at Al-Azhar University encourage extremism and terrorism

Syed Al-Kimani, a lecturer in the sociology of religion at Cairo University, published an article in the Egyptian weekly "Ruz Al-Youssef" in which he claimed that the curricula at Al-Azhar University contain texts that encourage extremism and terrorism[1]. Below are the main points of the article:
"... The whole world is watching us, to see what will happen with the reform in our country, and first of all with the freedom of speech and the expression of opinion - [which is] the most minimal requirement even if we were at the end of the world... We refrained from talking about Al-Azhar with the hope of reform from within and with the hope that the reform will be carried out [In the future] without revealing what is hidden in his files, his study plans, his reports and his positions...
Let's take a look together at the curricula in the science of halacha, which are taught in Al-Azhar's high schools, not to ask for their confiscation [of these books], but to understand that removing them from the curricula is the first step necessary for reform. This, while leaving them, of course, in an Islamic library as a source for those who would like to know how Muslims thought as the golden age of the science of Halacha, and for us to understand the way of thinking of [certain sheikhs today] and what they want from our youth...
Al-Azhar continues to be a place of education and defense of moderate Islam and the ideas accepted [for all]. However, some of the sheikhs in al-Azhar try to drag it back to the Middle Ages and draw [their ideas] from some extreme schools of thought. If al-Azhar gets rid of them and their ideas, it will remove those black stains from its garment.
If we examine some of the extreme curricula, we will find that the principle of war against a non-Muslim and killing him is not an obscene innovation [invented by] Abd al-Wahhab [the founder of Wahhabism] and [Iman] al-Tawhari, [Bin Laden's deputy and the leader of the group 'Yhad the Egyptian]. This is because the Hanafi school of halacha book 'Al-Akhtiyar fi Taalil al-Makhtar' teaches the next generation that 'fighting the infidels is an obligation for every man of sound mind, healthy, free and capable... and when The Muslims worry about the enemies in the city or the fort, they must call them to convert to Islam. If they convert to Islam, they must stop fighting them, and if they do not convert to Islam, they must call them to pay a skull tax. If they refuse to pay a skull tax, the Muslims must seek Allah's help in the war against them, place catapults, destroy their fields and trees, burn them and shoot at them [catalyst stones], even if [the enemies] use the Muslims as human shields'[2]...
After that, the book instructs to be lenient in this war: "And let not the Muslims murder, exaggerate it, abuse the corpses, kill a madman, a woman, a child, a disabled person, a person whose right hand has been amputated or an old man, unless one of them is a king or a person capable of fighting, inciting [to war], to advise about war or to encourage [to fight] with one's property.' The stipulation that women, the elderly and the disabled will receive amnesty if they do not incite war, states that, in fact, everyone must be killed, since there is no citizen living in a homeland attacked by foreigners, who does not incite to fight...
We will continue to read in some of the curriculum of the extremists: [in the same book it is said] 'When the imam conquers a land by force, if he wants - he will divide it among the looters, if he wants - he will execute the captives, enslave them or leave them under the protection of the Muslims. [Also] if he wants to return [to the land] with a cane in his possession, which he cannot take with him, then he will slaughter and burn it.'
What kind of way of thinking are we teaching our next generation, who has the right to attack other countries so that they convert to Islam or pay a skull tax and if they don't [do so] - we will destroy every last one of them? [that he has the right] to rob lands and return with the plunder, and if he cannot carry the plunder he will burn it? Can anyone imagine that a member of another religion would pay the skull tax while humiliated, to a people he does not know, just because he is able to attack, kill and slaughter? Will people surrender their countries without resistance? It is inevitable that the resistance will be accompanied by rivers of blood[3]...

And what after the occupation, immigration and settlement in the occupied land alongside its non-Muslim residents, who pay the skull tax? [In this matter] there are guidelines [by examining which] it is possible to see what the attitude of a graduate of al-Azhar will be towards his [non-Muslim] brother in the [Arab] homeland:... the [hair] from the front of their heads must be cut... they are allowed to ride [riding animals] that are not horses, such as donkeys, without a saddle... one should not stand up in their honor or offer them a greeting... one should not warm them, visit them when they are sick and participate in their holidays. They are not allowed to build new churches and rebuild those that have been destroyed... They are not allowed to build a structure higher than that of Muslims... They must be forbidden to raise their voices in mourning for a dead person.' the sponsors'…
And what else is involved in these extreme study programs?... In [the book] 'Al-Root' al-Marba'... we find the following legal issue regarding the relationship between the protégé and the Muslim: if the person of the book [meaning a Jew or Christian], the protégé, He avoids paying the skull tax - his property and blood are allowed. If [the protégé] murders a Muslim, he must be killed, but if a Muslim murders him, the Muslim must not be killed, but must pay a soul ransom, and the soul ransom for [murdering] a protégé is half of the soul ransom for [murdering] a Muslim. The height of justice.
However, in addition to all this darkness and ugly tyranny, there are anecdotes. Thus, you find in the chapter dealing with endowments in al-Ruch al-Marba, that it is permissible to dedicate [property] from which an infidel who is not an enemy or one who has withdrawn from Islam will benefit. why? Look and enjoy because it 'won't be for good, as both will soon be executed.'
Likewise, one should be prevented from reading the Qur'an with an impure mouth, and an apostate should be prohibited from reading it even if they want him to convert to Islam... In the chapter about amputation of a limb [as a punishment] for theft, [it is written that] the condition for amputation is that what was stolen is respectable property. Therefore, it is permissible to steal musical instruments...
This is what is taught in Al-Azhar... and there are other things that are disgusting and offensive, such as regarding the conditions of purification after defecating... It is forbidden to use respectable paper, that is, one with the name of Allah or a personal name written on it, such as [books of] Hadith and Halacha. However, it is permissible to use dishonorable paper, such as that on which the sciences of philosophy or logic have been written, provided that it is verified that the name of Allah is not mentioned in them [from: Al-Aqna'a fi Khal Alfat' Abi Shaja'a] [5]

We wonder, where does terrorism come from?
This is just a sample of the writings of extremist sheikhs who have infiltrated our noble religious institution. We present them in the hope that these plans will be re-examined, that Al-Azhar will take care first and foremost of what is happening within it and will place the interests of the homeland in the first place..."
