Ben Israel's appointment is a milestone in the short history of space activity in Israel. In his new role, Ben Israel replaces Professor Yuval Naman, who was the head of the Israel Space Agency until June of this year. With this, the Israeli Space Agency and the space community in Israel say goodbye to a loyal professor who in these days achieved heroism and who founded the space agency, headed it and accompanied it from the day of its foundation until these very days.

The Space Agency in the Ministry of Science and Technology operates by virtue of a government decision from April 1983.
