At 20:05, the Ax-1 team landed in the Dragon spacecraft in the Atlantic Ocean, near the shores of Jacksonville, Florida.

Just before entering the atmosphere, the spacecraft's crew compartment separated from the service compartment (which includes the solar panels) and activated its engines in order to enter the atmosphere. The separation from the service compartment was carried out so that the heat shield would lead the entrance of the capsule in which the astronauts are to the atmosphere. The spacecraft entered the atmosphere at a speed of about 17,000 miles per hour (27,000 km/h). Friction in the atmospheric layer slowed the spacecraft drastically while heating the capsule to temperatures higher than 1600 degrees. Throughout the process, ventilation systems in the spacecraft and suits kept the crew members and the spacecraft itself safe .

The speed of the spaceship continued to decrease until it reached a speed of 560 km/h, which allows the opening of the parachutes. When landing in the water, the spaceship slowed down to a speed of about 30 km/h. Immediately after the landing, speedboats arrived that checked the general condition of the spaceship, and video that there are no leaks or unexpected injuries in the body of the spaceship. After landing in the water, a SpaceX ship arrived and brought the spacecraft aboard.

As usual in space missions - the Ax-1 team will be evacuated from the spacecraft, while medical tests are performed. From the landing site, the crew will be taken to the launch site, Cape Canaveral, Florida, where Axiom Space, SpaceX and NASA crews are waiting to conduct follow-up tests for Ax-1 crew members.
