Scientists have announced that they have developed the smallest submarine in the world

Serafina. The main danger is that you will be eaten by underwater creatures

Scientists from the University of Canberra in Australia announced last week the development of the smallest submarine in the world. The total length of the submarine, called Serafina, is 40 cm.

Serafina can dive to a depth of 5,000 meters below sea level and perform somersaults in the water. The autonomously controlled submarine is equipped with a plastic hull, five propellers and rechargeable batteries. She can dive at a speed of 1 meter per second, a speed similar to walking. According to the head of the development team, Dr. Zimmer, the price of the submarine will also be very small compared to the price of other tiny submarines and it will start at about 700 dollars.

Dr. Zimmer said the size of the submarine helps reduce the equipment associated with other autonomous submarines, which require a crane, a special boat and a large crew to operate them.

Dr. Zimmer said the submarine could be used for a number of civilian and military purposes, including searching for shipwrecks and reconnaissance. According to him, the submarine's main problem is the fear that it will be eaten by one or another marine creature.
