Men also suffer from "premenstrual syndrome"

9 million women in Britain are treated with drugs to deal with premenstrual syndrome

Until now, mood swings, loss of concentration and unpredictable behavior seemed to be part of PMS, which affects women once a month. A study conducted at the University of Derby, reveals that men also suffer from the monthly phenomenon, and sometimes even with a stronger intensity.

"Maariv" reports that the full results of the study, which included 50 men and 50 women, will be published next month at the meeting of the British Psychological Society. The researchers examined symptoms of pain, loss of concentration and changes in mood over the course of a month. In the next step, the mental causes of the phenomenon, which until now has been attributed to hormonal changes in the woman's body, will be examined.

Today, nine million women in the UK are diagnosed with premenstrual syndrome and are treated with medication.
