Three more Russian navigation satellites were launched in the Glonass system

Now 18 of the 24 satellites of the Russian independent GPS system are floating in space

Russia's last launch of 2007 ended successfully on December 25 when three additional satellites of the Russian Glonass satellite navigation system were launched into space. The triple launch was carried out using a Proton M rocket from Baikonur in Kazakhstan.

Today the Glonass system, which is the Russian GPS system, has eighteen satellites. Upon its completion in 2010, the system will have 24 Glonass-M and Glonass-K satellites. The budget of the Russian government for the Glonass program last year was 380 million dollars and the previous year the budget was 181 million dollars.

In 2008 six satellites are planned to be launched, while in 2009 two new generation satellites known as Glonass K will be launched.

In total, during 2007, sixteen launches of various payloads were carried out from Baikonur, and only one of them, using a Protona M rocket, failed.

  1. Eventually, these satellites will join the space scraps, due to a lack of budget for maintenance, after the Russian oil and gas will be worthless and the Russians will go back to eating potatoes.

  2. In my opinion, the Russians are simply inflating their muscles for two reasons
    National pride
Increasing the value of the products of the Russian military industry
    And another
    Geopolitical power games

I don't think they want war, but they want power.

  3. It seems as if the Russians are preparing for war with the US and the West. They are equipping Iran with nuclear materials and advanced weapons systems, flexing their muscles against the defense systems the Americans are putting in place.
What if their independent GPS system was designed for a war situation where they would disable the global GPS system controlled by the Americans?

  4. What is the advantage of this system (Glossance) over the GPS system?
Is it more accurate? More special? better? I would be happy to detail and compare them.
And in which areas will the system operate? Is it all over the world? Is it only in Russia? Is it only in Asia and Europe? And will it operate in America? The heart of the West?
Will this system be able to operate as a disguised spying system that can send communications and disguised messages to Russian and Arab spies?
