Scientists in the Department of Applied Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem discovered that the human skin is actually an array of tiny antennas (operating in the frequency range known as "sub-terahertz"). The discovery and development of the sensing method was made by professors Yuri Feldman and Aharon Agrant in collaboration with PhD student Paul Ben Yishai, and my research colleagues Dr. Alexander Pozanescu and Dr. Andreas Kaduf. The discovery was based on recently published anatomical findings that revealed that the sweat ducts (the tubes that lead the sweat from the sweat glands to the pore on the skin) have a helical structure - similar to helical antennas in wireless communication systems.
According to Prof. Aaron Agrant, "the discovery motivated us to think that the similarity between the structure of the sweat ducts and helical antennas can also be expressed in their function as tiny antennas". With the help of a simple calculation, the researchers showed that coils with the dimensions of the sweat ducts will function as helical antennas at very high frequencies of hundreds of gigahertz (sub-terahertz). Based on these calculations, the researchers hypothesized that the signal returning from the skin in this frequency range would be affected by the activity level of the sweating system. In order to confirm their hypothesis, the researchers conducted a series of measurements in which they transmitted a wave beam towards the subject's palm and measured the strength of the reflected wave. The measurements were conducted in a group of subjects during the period of return to relaxation after strenuous physical activity. The measurements showed a very high correlation between the repeated signal in the frequency range between 75 and 110 gigahertz and changes in blood pressure and heart rate. The hypothesis of the researchers that the sweat ducts function as antennas turned out to be correct. It is important to note that the measurement was made when the antenna of the measuring device was about 22 cm away from the subject's palm.
The initial results of the study were recently published in the prestigious scientific journal Physical Review Letters, and received wide resonance among doctors and scientists.
The researchers state in their article that the research findings can form the basis for a primitive technology for remote sensing of various physiological and emotional parameters, and lead to the development of a variety of applications in the field of medical engineering and security technologies. However, the researchers emphasized that the research is still in its infancy, and there is a long way to go before its full significance can be realized and the full technological potential inherent in it can be implemented.
This sensing method is protected by a patent and commercialized by the Hebrew University Research Development Company.

In my opinion, mind reading will never be possible, not even by connecting electrodes directly to the skull. Even connecting electrodes in an invasive way will be far from reading minds. But never say never.
