The Ministry of Science and Technology will subsidize a week of camps this summer in 147 communities across the country. The subsidized week will deal with the fields of science, technology and space and the parents will bear the cost of only NIS 80.

"Children who are exposed to the fields of science and technology at a young age are the children who will change the future of the country. We want to give everyone an equal opportunity to be an influential part of this change." Minister of Science and Technology Ofir Akunis explains and adds: "Already today you can see the enormous influence of the young Israeli entrepreneurs in a variety of scientific and technological fields and we strive to preserve and strengthen the phenomenon."

The camp includes 5 days, all of which are initiated and financed by the Ministry of Science and operated by the Ytek company, which won the center to run all the camps in Israel. As part of the project, approximately 604 groups will be operated, including more than 12,000 children, with a budget of 4 million NIS. The program is intended for graduates of grades XNUMX-XNUMX and operates mainly in peripheral settlements and in the Arab and ultra-Orthodox sectors of Israel.

As part of the program, every day of the week and for 4 and a half hours, the instructors will run 3 workshops which will be delivered in an experiential way and through robotics, electronics and technology kits in activities that will help children enrich their knowledge without the need for prior knowledge.

The goal is to increase the exposure and accessibility of the fields of science and technology and to raise awareness of them at an early age.

  1. I am in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood in Jerusalem, a neighborhood of thousands of children. Registration for Kitana closed after a few hours with only 25 children! Does this make sense?

  2. Following on from my question, I forgot to ask if there is such a summer camp in Netanya, how do you register for it?
