The plenary session of the Council for Higher Education, led by the chairman of the MLA Gideon Sa'ar, decided at its meeting held on April 27 to adopt the recommendation of the subcommittee for supervision and enforcement on the subject of "the academic management of institutions of higher education that are not universities" and to limit the length of time that the head of an institution will serve in his position.
The decision states that, "The head of the institution/the president will hold his position on a term basis. The number of terms of office shall not exceed three, and the consecutive cumulative term of office of head of an institution/president shall not exceed 12 years. In this framework, the number of terms and the maximum term of office will be determined by the institution and will be part of the institution's statutes.

It should be noted that the decision will apply to all higher education institutions, including universities (unlike in the past). The sub-committee for supervision and enforcement will bring before the MLA at one of its upcoming meetings a proposal for a transitional provision regarding presidents of incumbent institutions.

  1. I suggested to my father to include this article in the series "The Priesthood as You Didn't Know It" but it turns out that he didn't want to.
In my opinion - a sprinkling of this type of humor here and there was not harmful at all.
