On Sunday, July 16, 7, the control center announced from the members of the STS-05 mission team of the space shuttle Discovery that they are receiving a landing permit after the completion of the test data that were done after the shuttle left the International Space Station.

Team members received the news at their lunch. They prepare for landing by storing objects, testing the engines and examining the shuttle systems.

The landing is scheduled for Monday, 09:14 am EST (16:14 Israel time) at the Kennedy Space Center. The ignition of the engines for the landing will begin one hour and seven minutes earlier and then the ferry will begin its flight towards Florida.

If for some reason the landing is not possible, the astronauts will wait for the next opportunity, about an hour and a half later (17:50). The weather forecast is not encouraging - there is a chance of showers at the landing site. Flight controllers are not currently planning another landing site other than Florida on Monday.

Discovery brought supplies, equipment and a new crew member to the International Space Station. During three spacewalks, crew members performed station maintenance and tested equipment to repair the heat shield.
