Sunken cities and what is required/life from a stranger

Marine archeology reveals hidden cities under the surface of the water in many parts of the world. Is there proof of mythologies?

The story of Atlantis accompanies human history since Plato spoke of a mysterious continent submerged in the depths of the sea. His descriptions are very detailed and the echoes of this continent are found in historians from ancient times. Many have tried to find this city in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean and it still has not been found. Thanks to these searches, other submerged remains were found and the most famous are those found near the Bimini Islands in the Atlantic Ocean near the USA. There are those who claim that all of Plato's descriptions are his invention. It could be, but equally one should think in the opposite direction. What can support his description is the revelation of different cities or at least parts of them in other parts of the world, in the last decades. These findings, according to various testimonies, are older than Sumer. These discoveries also have geographical and ecological aspects for that period. We will try to stand for the totality of these aspects by referring to a number of cities for which there is evidence even if it is minimal (at least today).

Japan

In March 1995, a Japanese diver working near the southern coast of Okinawa went down to an unknown area below the accepted depth of 12 meters and during his movement came across a coral-covered block that he thought was a building block. When he got closer to the block, it became clear to him that it was a massive structure. Upon closer examination, he found that in front of him was an orderly array of large lumps covered by organic growths, which means that it is something ancient. The diver surrounded the place, took several photographs and finished his work. A few days later, these photographs were published in the newspapers of Japan and the echoes were great. Many began to visit the place - marine archaeologists, media people and just curious. At the end of the summer of that year, another diver, during his dive, reached another place in Okinawa and to his astonishment he saw a large and massive arch or a large gate made of large blocks of stones that correspond with great precision to each other, the construction style is similar to that of the Inca cities in South America. If following the discoveries of the previous site many questions were asked regarding the nature of the artificial or natural formations, now it was clear beyond any shadow of a doubt that it was man-made.
The archaeologists began to show interest, and the investigation of the place moved to professional lines. It was clear that these were the ruins of a city. Expeditions were sent here with the assumption that there should be additional buildings there, and indeed, in the same year, five additional sites were found, near the coastlines of 3 islands. The diving range of the researchers was between a depth of 6 meters and 30 meters and indeed different structures were discovered. The sight was breathtaking, paved streets, intersecting roads, huge altar formations, and they have steps leading to squares and roads surrounded by towers similar to lighthouses, the underwater structures cover the ocean floor for 500 km starting from the small island of YONAGUNI southwest of Okinawa and the nearby islands of KERAMA and AGUNI, one of the few large buildings is located near the eastern shore of YONAGUNI, is 30 meters deep, 80 meters long, 30 meters wide and 15 meters high. These structures appear to be made of granitic sandstone. Another structure is pyramidal, 80 meters long and 30 meters deep. Another structure also at the same depth is 180 meters long and 30 meters high. It is estimated that these buildings were built around 8000 years BC.

Taiwan

According to the tradition of the inhabitants of the PESCADORES islands, under the water is a castle surrounded by "red" walls. In 1976 the Taiwanese government decided to follow this tradition and tasked one of its brilliant divers STEVE SHIEH to examine the issue, the diver worked there for several years and indeed found that there is truth in this tradition. The location of the wall is in the waters of the TIGER WALL (HU CHING) island, the height of the wall is 3 meters and according to archaeologists the castle and its walls were built 7,000-12,000 years ago. Despite the importance of the event, the findings were not adequately reviewed in the Western media.
Later STEVE SHIEH was appointed the director of the Institute of Underwater Archeology of Taiwan, and in 2002 more research was done 100 meters from HU CHING Castle. In September of that year, a wall of stones 1 meter high, half a meter wide, 100 meters long and 20-30 meters deep was found on the ocean floor in the PESCADORES Islands. In several places in the wall, several holes filled with gravel were found, probably with the intention of blocking the wind. The physical proximity to the castle that was found in 1976, raises the likelihood of the invention of a pre-historic culture on the spot. This is actually a sunken city.
Confirmation for this hypothesis is found in another find that was discovered in the area 6 years ago when amateur divers found what appeared to be the remains of cross-shaped walls on the ocean floor. The length of one of the walls is hundreds of meters in a south-north direction and the other that crosses the same direction is east-west at a right angle. At the northern end of the north-south wall is a partially destroyed circular complex. This wall is in shallow water at a depth of 4-6 meters and the west-east wall "sits" on a slope that starts at a depth of 4 meters and reaches a depth of 36 meters. The height of the two walls is 3 meters.

Two interesting sites were found in India, one site was discovered through satellite images. It turned out that in the PALK STRIAT there is a bridge connecting India with Ceylon made of shallow water islands and it was named ADAM'S BRIDGE. The length of the bridge is 30 km. Its special curvature and composition give room for the hypothesis that it is man-made. What is special about this bridge is that in Ramayana it is about a powerful character - Rama - who built a bridge of this kind.
The second site was reported in January 2002, this site is located 48 km west of SURAT in the Gulf of Camray (GULF KHAMBHAT CAMRAY). And its age is estimated at more than 9,000 years. This site was revealed in January 2002 using sonar images. It is a city 8 km long and 2 km wide. It is estimated that this city sank with the melting of the glaciers during the last ice age. A square and rectangular buildings with a depth of 39 meters were found there. Fossilized human bones, fossilized wood, tools made of stone, fragments of stone were also found, and it is likely that further tests will reveal new findings.

Nan Medul

European sailors who toured the Pacific Ocean at the beginning of the 18th century discovered groups of islands that piqued their curiosity. A short distance from the remote shore of the Micronesian island of POHNOEI is the lost city of NAN MADOL. This city, which is located on an ancient coral reef, extends over hundreds of small islands connected by a large number of canals (some of them submerged) and has an area of ​​18 square kilometers. The buildings in the city are made of large basalt stones, some weighing 50 tons each. There are also piles of basalt blocks arranged in twos and one on top of the other. The shape of these blocks is hexagonal, a natural shape found in the Golan Heights. The questions that arise are where were they brought from, how was it done and for what? Moving large blocks of marble from place to place was known in the past. The stones of the amphitheatres in Beit Shean and Caesarea were brought to Israel by the Romans from Italy by sea, how they did it is unknown and this is because this engineering information was lost. According to the mythology of the natives, the transfer of the stones was done by an act of magic in the air. It is also worth noting that the excavation of the canals within the reefs is at a high level of precision.
Before the Second World War, Japan sent a research expedition to the place to check claims about finding bodies "in the morgue". To their astonishment, the expedition's divers found waterproof coffins made of platinum under the sea surface. Human bones were also found, the measurements of which show that those local residents were taller than the current natives. Pottery fragments were also found whose age testing showed them to be 2,000 years old. It turned out that among the natives there is a persistent rumor backed by evidence that near Nan Medul there is a sunken city called MODLYNUM.

Lemuria

According to the Indian tradition the RIG VEDA there used to be three continents and the name of the third, home of a race called DANAVS. A huge continent called RUTAS east of India was home to a race that worshiped the sun. This continent was torn apart by a volcanic eruption which sent it into the depths of the ocean. Fragments of this continent remained in the islands of Indonesia and the islands of the Pacific Ocean. The tradition of EASTER Island speaks of a place called HIVA that sank under water and the inhabitants fled from it. The people of SAMOAM called a similar place BOLUTU. In this place there were many trees and plants that grew fruits and flowers and they were all replaced by others when the whole area was raised. BOLUTU residents could pass between trees, houses and other objects without any resistance. The Maori inhabitants of New Zealand tell themselves that they come from a large, mountainous island on the other side of the water called HAWAII. In fact, in all the islands around the Pacific Ocean, a myth of a continent that is submerged under water and its name is MU is repeated. This myth has been known by the Polynesians for thousands of years. Zoologists of the 19th century could not explain the great explosiveness of a small and primitive mammal called a lemur in Africa, Madagascar, and the East Indian Archipelago. Some of these zoologists tried to explain the great explosion of the lemur in a large continent that used to be in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and India, and the name given to this continent is Lemuria (LEMURIA) after this animal. A feeling that they do have something to base these stories on. Geological studies do confirm the fact that in the distant past a large continent was connected to Asia and it sank under water. The greater part of this continent is called SUNDALAND. This continent connected Southeast Asia to Indonesia. Probably all the islands of this country used to be one continental unit that extended to PALAWAN in the Philippines. With the end of the ice age and the melting of the glaciers in the poles which caused the sea level to rise, about 8,000 years ago Southeast Asia lost more than half of its area. During this period island groups were formed in the Philippines and eastern Indonesia. What links the Lamuria myth with the area of ​​SUNDALAND and the nearby islands is the estimation that the entire area was inhabited before the water level rose. Helpful evidence for this can be found in the old tradition of the Tamils ​​TAMIL SANGAN that their origin is from a sunken continent somewhere south of India, most likely underwater archaeological research will reveal settlements and the remains of many buildings.

Cuba

In the middle of the year 2000, the Cuban government and the Canadian company ADC (ADVANCED DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS) carried out joint underwater research in the area called CUBAN SHFLF in the GUANAHACARIBE peninsula with the aim of uncovering ships that sank in the area in the last 500 years, ships that, according to estimation, carried valuable treasures. To their astonishment, the researchers found at a depth of 700 meters a plateau that is several kilometers long and on it are various geometric shapes reminiscent of buildings and pyramids. The length of the stones is 2-5 meters, like the dimensions of the stones in the pyramids in Egypt. A close examination of the stones shows that they were precisely cut so that they could be pressed together to form large stones. The stones made of granites have various engravings in the form of symbols and drawings, which proves that these stones are man-made. The whole place looks like an urban center and it was probably built 6000 years ago. Some of the buildings are covered in fine white sand, the geological findings show that the area was once 40 meters above sea level. The resulting impression is that the place was inhabited by an unknown culture.

Bimini Islands

In the 50s of the 20th century, many buildings and many underwater roads were discovered near Bahama Island and near the Bimini Islands. Opinions about the origin of these buildings were divided. There were those who claimed that these structures were of natural origin and on the other hand there were those who claimed that their origin was man-made. New evidence supporting the latter hypothesis began to emerge this year. Archaeologist William Donto and a group of researchers confirmed the existence of traces of a port in shallow waters on the island of Bimini, 80 km from Miami. The team examined a formation about which very little is known, a wave of underwater stones submerged under water at a distance of 1.6 km from the well-known and disputed "Derech Bimini" site. The length of the line is 1.6 km. Further research revealed large limestone circles on the ocean floor. The circles are inside each other and at fixed distances from each other. To the researchers' surprise, anchors were found made of stones similar in shape to Greek and Roman Phoenician anchors.
On the road to my right is a J-shaped formation made of blocks of stones. Anchors made of stone were also found here. They were exposed on a block of stone 600 meters long. One of these anchors resembles the unique anchors from ancient Greece found in THERA. The research team found clusters of stones stuck to each other, including one cluster of stones placed on top of each other. On the top stone is carved a U-shaped channel that descends to its base. Beneath the massive blocks were found smooth rectangular slabs. These slabs were probably used as support stones in examining the plinth for the large stones. This finding is proof that indeed a road on the right was an ancient port pier.

New England

Scientists who mapped the seabed below the place that was supposed to be used as a wind farm in NANTUCKET SOUND (in New England) were surprised by what they found: evidence of a submerged forest 1.8 meters deep under the mud. The findings included BIRCH WOOD, yellowish green grass, soil and insect parts. It was given the impression that it was part of a forest floor that was part of a coastline swallowed up by water that reached the place with the rise in sea level following the recent melting of the glaciers. It is estimated that before the thaw the New England continental shelf was not covered by water and that the coastline was 120 km east of the current coastline. The archaeologists hope to find settlements in the area that were also covered by water.

Conclusions

In one of the last radio programs of "Matt Olimi" broadcast on Network A, it became clear that a new field of research is developing and that is geomythology. The rationale behind this scientific discipline is that in the mythologies of many peoples in the ancient world there are truth tellers that describe various geological phenomena such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, massive tsunami waves, etc., but they are described as the product of the wars of the gods or as punishments that came upon humans due to their sins. A careful reading of these texts can give a more or less clear picture regarding the change of the landscape in different places on Earth.
If we follow this rationale, the conclusion is called for that these mythologies can also tell us about the migration of peoples and cities that were founded and destroyed. A special form for describing the historical narrative with artistic means that were at the disposal of the peoples in ancient times. The fact of discoveries of structures at the bottom of the sea and in particular the colossal structures can confirm what is told in the various mythologies. If we take another reductive step, we can tap that in those places where these buildings were found there were developed cultures that had been inhabited for hundreds of years if not more, this is for the reason that the buildings cannot grow from nothing. A lot of knowledge was required such as architecture, building engineering and road planning, knowledge that required transporting the stones to construction sites. The person who planned and built these buildings also had a script, since prior planning is required before building them. In the continuation of these underwater studies, it will probably be necessary to find the openings of the buildings (with careful preliminary planning so that the sea water will not enter them). It is almost certain that they will find treasures there that are hard to even imagine and here another field of research opens up to us and it is the geography of an ancient world that was no longer.
If we refer to the dates of these places, the estimates all boil down more or less to a period of 12,000-8,000 years ago. The general consensus in geology is that the last ice age ended 12,000 years ago. It was followed by the melting of the glaciers, which caused the water level in the oceans to rise. As a result, various coastlines were flooded and settlements that were there were also flooded. It can be understood from this that the coastlines in the past were different than today. The Mediterranean coast was inward into the sea itself, the Atlantic Ocean was narrower, by how much it is hard to tell. However, if we take the case of New England, it is probably tens of kilometers and most likely the same in the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. It is also possible that modern rivers flowing into the oceans and seas reached the ancient coastlines. It can therefore be assumed that further research on the bottom of the seas near the current coastlines will find excavations covered with sand of these rivers that flowed to the ancient beaches, and perhaps evidence of the construction of the ancient beaches using the silt carried by the rivers in ancient times will also be found. It is therefore possible that you will find this driftwood at the bottom of the sea near the shores of Alexandria, which was transported to the place by the Nile in the distant past, and perhaps you will also find evidence of beach rocks such as kurkar.
In terms of wind direction, a windward beach is a beach along which the air moves inward, towards the beach, while a windward beach has winds blowing from it to the sea. This means that in the ancient past the significant coastline in relation to the direction of wind movements was not the same as that of our time. Does this have any significance in terms of local air vortices in the ancient coastlines? What was the direction and strength of the movement of the local spirits? To illustrate this we will use a pictorial example. Let's say that the waters of the Mediterranean Sea in the past were 20 meters lower than today and the beach of Netanya was located tens of meters further west, on the local kurkar ridge there are several people preparing to jump with windsurfers, the direction and strength of the air currents they used were different to one degree or another from those today . The accumulated knowledge following these discoveries and future discoveries will allow climatic mapping of the ancient past at the macro level and at the micro level and here we have new research fields of paleogeography and paleoclimatology.

The body of knowledge regarding sunken cities presents us with a picture of a world different from the one we are familiar with and which preceded the culture of Shumer (the first known written evidence originates from this kingdom) and as a mental exercise it is worthwhile to think about virtual time tourism based on these findings and the set of required conclusions.
