The date of the election of the next president of the country is getting closer and closer, and among the candidates coming out of the political cauldron, the unusual candidate continues to stand out in the landscape - Professor Dan Shechtman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Tens of thousands of citizens have already signed online petitions in support of Shechtman.

However, the determining body is of course the Knesset, whose members elect the president. Shechtman asked all 120 members of the House to meet with them, and has already started the meetings. "I think that the support for me in the public is broad," says Shechtman. "The second front is the front of the Knesset, where I meet for introductory meetings with the members of the house. I want to meet with everyone, especially with the leaders of the parties, because they actually determine the policy of their parties. It is hard for me to believe that the Knesset will not give me a chance to compete. I think the public will not like it. There will be the necessary ten signatures."

Unlike members of the Knesset, who are prohibited from raising donations for the presidential election campaign, Shechtman does not have such a restriction, but he decided to impose it on himself so that the competition would be fair, according to him. In the meantime, he is running the election campaign without a real headquarters, with the help of a few volunteers, and he even comes to meetings in Jerusalem by public transportation. The big question is - if the naive candidate and his supporters will succeed in breaking through the cynical walls of the political system in Israel.

With all due respect to the artist, he is very far from representing the people. What is going on with you??? He represents your opinion -> he represents the opinion of the majority of the people??
I personally definitely accept Oman's views, but to say that he represents the majority of the people???

  2. Only on the condition that you promise to finally promote science in Israel.

Already fed up with the ignorant generation that grew up here who know nothing beyond stupid reality shows, from which the scientists of tomorrow who will lead the country forward are supposed to grow. We are on the road to destruction, unless we change course and quickly.

Science and technology are the source of our strength, it's a shame that many people don't understand this.

  4. Mr. Dan Shechtman is the most worthy. Even if you want to find a flaw in him, you don't. In my opinion, he represented Israel in the most honorable way of all.
