The Minister of Science and Technology announced his intention to appoint Shi-Lee Spiegelman to the position of Director General of the Ministry. The appointment of Spiegelman is subject to the approval of the State Commission and the government.
Minister Shay said: "In light of her extensive experience and due to the impressive reputation she has gained over the years of public and business activities, I asked Ms. Shay-Lee Spiegelman to take on the position of Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and to my delight she responded positively to my request. Shi-Lee brings with her professional experience and managerial talent that will help lead the State of Israel to the summit of global science and technology, and will help leverage the many opportunities that Israeli innovation creates in order to contribute to Israel's social and economic resilience. We hope to receive the approval of the state commission and the government as soon as possible so that we can begin the many actions before us.'

In recent years, Mrs. Spiegelman served as the head of the Digital Israel headquarters and led the national digital policy, and before that she held several key positions at Microsoft Israel. In her last position she served as VP of Marketing and Social Responsibility and as a member of the management of the company's research and development center in Israel. In the years 2003-2007 she served as director of regulation, government relations and social responsibility at Microsoft Israel. In the past, she served as the deputy manager of the strategy department at Bank Hapoalim and as a consultant at the strategic consulting company 'Shaldor'. Ms. Spiegelman has a master's degree in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA and a bachelor's degree in law from Tel Aviv University.

The Minister of Science and Technology, MK Yizhar Shai, appointed Moran Leshem Bar to the position of Chief of Staff in his office. Moran Bar comes to the position after years of achievements in the local high-tech industry. In recent years, Bar served as the CEO of the news site 'Geektime', which she founded about a decade ago. Before that, Bar was a co-founder of the 'Venturegeeks' accelerator, one of the first start-up accelerators in Israel, and served as a co-founder of the '2eat' website. Moran Bar is a graduate of the IDF's MARM program and has a bachelor's degree in law. This is Shai's second appointment since taking office after a few days ago he announced the appointment of Shai-Lee Spiegelman to the position of CEO of the office.
