The Kindergarten "Mada-Kids", the first of its kind in Israel, was launched yesterday (Thursday) in Be'er Sheva. The kindergarten is designed to encourage interest and passion for science and technology among the children at an early age. The kindergartens that will take part in the project will be equipped with computers, Lego kits for planning and construction, robotics experiments and corners with space content.

The Kindergarten, "Mada-Kids", the first of its kind in Israel, was launched this morning (Thursday) at a festive event in Beer Sheva that took place in the presence of Minister of Education Naftali Bennett, Marilyn Hewson, Chairman, CEO and President of Lockheed Martin, Mayor of Beer Sheva Rubik Danilovich, Chairman of the Rashi Foundation, Ral (resp.) Gabi Ashkenazi. The kindergarten, which was established as a joint initiative of the Lockheed Martin Company, the Municipality of Beer Sheva, the Rashi Foundation and the Ministries of Education and Science, was opened as part of the "Madekids" program, which aims to pave the way for the next generation of future scientists in Israel, by nurturing the fields of science and technology from an early age.

The "Science Kids" Kindergarten in Be'er Sheva is the only one in Israel that combines over 300 hours of science studies per year operated by a kindergarten team that has undergone special scientific training. The purpose of the innovative kindergarten is to encourage interest and passion for the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) at a young age, to later establish the children's initial knowledge in the fields of science in elementary schools and to serve as an example of technological education in early childhood, in a way that will lead to the opening of other similar kindergartens all over the country .

Minister of Education, Naftali Bennett: exposing kindergarten children to the fascinating fields of science will open a window to an endless world of experiences and challenges. We will know the importance of the knowledge that the children gain in the scientific experiences in kindergarten in a few years, and without a doubt it will have a significant personal and national benefit. The initiation of the first scientific kindergarten in Be'er Sheva is an example and a model for all the central and peripheral cities - everyone has an equal opportunity, everywhere in the State of Israel. I would like to congratulate all the partners in the project, who are true partners in promoting the goals of the education system in Israel for the success of science and mathematics."

  1. A most welcome idea.
I would appreciate more details: who is the kindergarten for, is it open to the general public or only to high school children, ages, price, and is an additional language taught, how many children in the group?
    Thank you

  2. I would love to hear details about the kindergarten... what is the fee? ages? Where is the garden located? How can I register?

  3. It's really fun to hear about the development of our city, especially since I have a two-year-old child at home.
I would love to understand from all the many articles I've seen about the kindergarten, how and when do you register for it? What does it involve and who is it for?

  4. To Avi Blizovsky: At the bottom of the articles there is an option to add a comment. There are those who do not understand what is meant by entering the "website address" and do not know what to do and therefore do not respond... maybe it should be automatic
