Ben Gurion University implements Rosetta Biosoftware Systems for pilot research in the field of bioinformatics

The computational biotechnology team, led by Dr. Eitan Rubin from NIBN and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, will use these systems as a pilot study to form a national experimental facility that will allow researchers throughout Israel to test software and databases for biotechnology research

Rosetta Biosoftware announced the use of the Rosetta Elucidator(R) system for LC/MS protein expression analysis and the Rosetta Resolver(R) system for gene expression data analysis, as part of research in bioinformatics at the National Institute of Biotechnology in the Negev (NIBN) at Ben Gurion University of the Negev.

The computational biotechnology team, led by Dr. Eitan Rubin from NIBN and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, will use these systems as a pilot study to form a national experimental facility that will allow researchers throughout Israel to test software and databases for biotechnology research. The system will also be used for a research program led by researchers from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where the response of plants to stress is examined.

"We are excited about the opportunities that the Rosetta Resolver and Rosetta Elucidator systems have opened up for us," said Dr. Eitan Rubin, who heads the pilot project. "The combination of industrial strength and the ease of use of these two systems allows us to create a resource that will help us in research, and in addition we hope that the entire research community in Israel will be able to use it."

"We are happy to provide the Resolver and Elucidator systems to Ben Gurion University for a pilot study, as well as the fact that our product is considered a national program for the supply of an experimental facility," says Yelena Shablanco, Vice President and CEO of Rosetta Biosoftware. The built-in integration capabilities within our products will be of great value which will enable the research carried out on various platforms at Ben Gurion University. We are proud to support the systems biology research carried out by the university and we provide it with the most sophisticated analysis and management capabilities for data for research in gene expression and comparative proteins."
