Renault will launch the electric car in Israel

Representatives of Renault and the Chief Scientist at the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Eli Ofer, signed this week in a solemn ceremony an agreement for cooperation in industrial R&D.

Representatives of Renault and the Chief Scientist at the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Eli Ofer, signed this week in a solemn ceremony an agreement for cooperation in industrial R&D. The ceremony took place at the President's House in the presence of the President of the State, Mr. Shimon Peres; The president of Renault worldwide, Carlos Ghosn, and the French ambassador to Israel, Jean-Michel Caza.

Renault joins seven other global companies that have already signed the agreement as part of a program run by the chief scientist with multinational corporations.

According to the agreement, Renault, which is a global car manufacturer operating in 118 countries in the world, will be able to support, together with the chief scientist, selected Israeli companies that develop technologies in the field of environmentally friendly vehicles and especially in the field of electric vehicles.

Renault will provide the Israeli companies, which will be selected by it to participate in the program and will receive support for part of the R&D expenses from the chief scientist, additional technological and marketing support. The chief scientist will assist Renault in locating suitable technologies, developed in Israel.

The country's president, Shimon Peres, congratulated Renault on its electric vehicle initiative (which led the company to join the collaborative framework with the chief scientist), when he presented his vision for reducing the country's dependence on oil and moving to environmentally friendly transportation.

The Chief Scientist at the TMT Ministry, Dr. Eli Ofer, emphasized that technologies to protect the environment and reduce dependence on oil have risen to a high place in his ministry's priority scale in recent years.

We work to encourage Israeli companies to produce more "green" and less polluting products and to develop technologies to reduce the emission of pollutants, to save energy and to produce renewable energy using environmentally friendly methods.

Renault's electric car project in Israel, which was the trigger for its joining the cooperation program of the Bureau of Information Technology, fits well into this policy, adds Dr. Ofer, and may even lead to a significant breakthrough in the field of green transportation in Israel and worldwide.

The director of the cooperation program with multinational corporations at the Office of the Inspector General, Jacob Fisher, said that he will now work together with Renault people to define specific areas of interest, in which Renault wishes to concentrate the main development efforts. We will soon publish a call for Israeli companies operating in the field to submit proposals for cooperation in R&D with Renault, noted Fischer.

  1. Just a nimble entrepreneur who makes money from panic to green
If they really wanted to encourage an electric vehicle, they would have approved the import of dozens of models of electric-powered mini cars that are common in Europe without taxes.
That way they would solve the problem immediately and benefit from the reduction of congestion on the roads because these vehicles are small even next to Smart. It makes more sense than a full-sized family car that is heavy and wasteful of space and energy because it carries a lot of weight and uses a proprietary electrical system so that the developer controls the entire process (you can't charge from the grid only from the developer's points) but that way no one will profit

  2. All the electricity needed to charge hundreds of thousands can be provided
The cars in the future by building more nuclear reactors

  3. It is possible to build a power plant on hamin...
People eat soup on Shabbat and there is gas for the whole week.

  4. As long as we use the fuel that comes out of the depths of the earth, we allow the Arabs to purchase weapons and destroy the planet.
Today there are cheap technologies for generating electricity from sunlight and wind power.
    We have plenty of sun.

  5. For "what's new", as you said, the efficiency of the engine is better, and also the efficiency of the electricity company is higher than any gasoline engine so that we will benefit from pollution.
In addition to that, the pollution will be in the area of the power stations and not in our face on the streets, which will make the air cleaner in the cities.

  6. The electric car is a great idea
The efficiency of the electric engine is much higher than gasoline engines,
    diesel fuel
If they manage to lower the weight, the specific volume of the battery so that it can travel about 500 km in one charge without the battery taking up more volume than a fuel tank, then it will replace the gasoline cars.
    One problem remains
If we assume a hundred thousand or more electric cars will charge themselves overnight then the electricity consumption in the power plants will increase
They will consume more oil/coal and air pollution will increase
So what do we mean by "green"?
