In the future: computers will give humans eternal life

At least that's what inventor, author and futurist Ray Kurzweil claims? Kurzweil predicts that in 15 to 30 years tiny nanorobots will swim in the bloodstream and heal sick or old organs? Human memories will be backed up on computers and the conference calls will be replaced by a joint trip to the virtual beach

In about 15 years, human reason and artificial intelligence will merge, in a way that will give people eternal life - inventor, writer and futurist Ray Kurzweil predicts. In a keynote speech he delivered at the SC06 conference held last week and dealt with computers, Kurzweil predicted that tiny nanorobots would swim in the bloodstream and heal diseased or old organs, human memories would be backed up in computers and computers would restore youth, youthful appearance and health to the human body.

Kurzweil, the author of the book The Singularity Is Near, predicts that in a quarter of a century, artificial intelligence will be able to match the power of human intelligence. After that, the power of artificial intelligence will exceed that of humans, due to continuous technological progress, and the ability of machines to share information instantly.

In an interview he gave to the American InformationWeek, Kurzweil says that humans and computers will merge in nanorobots - tiny robots, the size of a single cell, that swim in the bloodstream and will be integrated into clothes, the body, the brain and other places. If we live another 15 to 30 years, we can gain eternal life, according to Kurzweil: "Version 1.0 of the human body" will be replaced by an advanced version, which is based on nanotechnology and is able to heal itself or replace diseased or old tissues. Damaged organs can be easily replaced.

"In 2020, a computer that will cost a thousand dollars will be a thousand times more powerful than the human brain," predicts Kurzweil. In 25 years the global computing power will double a billion times. "In 15 years we will live in a very different world. Medicines will be found for cancer and heart disease, which will prevent them altogether - or at least turn them into chronic diseases that are not life-threatening. At some point we will be able to stop the aging process and defeat death."

Kurzweil does not write science fiction books. Bill Gates of Microsoft, director of the Robotics Laboratory at Carnegie Mellon University, a professor at MIT and a physicist praise Kurzweil's book. He was awarded the US National Medal of Technology and MIT's Melson Award. According to Kurzweil, he looks back, measures the pace at which computers have advanced in the last hundred years, and continues the line of progress towards the near future.

Eventually, we will reach a point where human reason will no longer be able to cope with computers, or even come close to their power - Kurzweil predicts. In his estimation, the artificial intelligence will be able to access the programs based on which it was built and improve itself at a rapid pace. In 2045, the power of artificial intelligence will be a billion times greater than the power of human reason today. "The supercomputers actually lag behind the pace in all these areas," says Kurzweil.

According to Kurzweil, cracking the biology of the human brain is a prerequisite for creating artificial intelligence, which will give scientists a "toolbox" for developing advanced computers. "In the 21st century, we will not witness the progress of a hundred years, but the progress of 20,000 years - a thousand times more than in the XNUMXth century," says Kurzweil.

According to Kurzweil, in the near future we will enjoy the following innovations: in the late thirties of the 21st century, doctors will be able to back up our memories; In the late twenties of the 21st century, doctors will be able to launch smart robots - nano-robots - into the bloodstream to cure diseases, and into the brain to "rejuvenate" us; In 15 years the life expectancy will be significantly longer, and from 2020 at least one year will be added to the life expectancy every year that passes.

At the same time, we will spend more time in virtual reality environments. Instead of conducting video conferences, we can invite people for a "trip on the virtual beach". When we walk down the street and meet someone familiar, information about them will appear on the glasses or in the field of vision. Instead of having to spend long hours in front of the desktop computer, the computers will be integrated into the environment: the familiar monitors will be replaced by projectors that will display the information on the retina of the eye, or virtual monitors that will float in the air.

Scientists will be able to renew our youth by replacing light cells with younger cells of the same type. It will be possible to regrow whole cells, tissues and organs and integrate them into the body without the need for surgery. It will even be possible to "create new heart cells from skin cells and implant them in the system through the blood circulation: over time, cells of a diseased heart will be replaced by healthy, young cells that have the same DNA." According to Kurzweil, we are even close to solving a problem that science has so far had difficulty dealing with - the common cold: in 10 years it will be possible to cure it with the methods of nanotechnology.

However, Kurzweil warns that terrorists will be able to use these technologies against us - and spread, for example, powerful viruses prepared by methods of genetic engineering.

  1. There is no person who is not afraid of death, I personally believe in God but do not know what happens after death.
It could be that our body is simply a machine and death in our lives is like an electrical device that stops working, in every era there are wars, there is hatred, in my opinion with the help of this invention the thinking of humans will change, the fact that we have become accustomed to death does not mean that it should stay that way, I will try to donate 500 to this project A thousand NIS in order to feel that I did something for humanity

  2. If nanotechnology enters the human body system and computer systems take over the world, humans will lose their value and the future will be destroyed: there will be no more humans or feelings and all the things you know today will disappear before your eyes
    This must not happen!
Nature works in a special way only for him, he determines the course of life, and everything happens as it is supposed to happen.
Under no circumstances should you give up who you are, after death there is another life, the beginning will never have an end and the end will never have a beginning.

  3. I can prove that everything that was said is true and more than that the question is what each of you would like it to be

  4. It's a shame that among all these plans, there are also human scum like most of Islam, who will take advantage of all these to the detriment of the inhabitants of the earth.

  5. In my opinion, Kurzweil is delusional and Assaf Azoulai is simply mistaken.
And to number 7 I will add: He who brings things in the name of Umram brings salvation to the world

  6. Hello, nice computer
Here we came from eternity with one heart
To dwell safely in your molten heart.
Admittedly, this is a very clever plot
But this is our way to the world.
So you are the peeper, oops yes yes you are
And oops, yes yes, you are the nice one
We are your eternity and yours return as a melody.
How we arranged you tell me endlessly
How we arranged that you will finally arrange us
How we messed up again and again and again
    This is the wonderful riddle.

    Hugin: In a sweet guile.

  7. Definitely has a soul.
I would define it as a "thought". When you neutralize the entire physical world, and all matter, you find that in the end only the thought remains...
And believing in something without a foundation is not necessarily stupid.
All the philosophical theories that are the cornerstones of a thing, start with things without a foundation, but with stupid assumptions...

  8. So what if he says this, we need scientific evidence to know that his words are indeed true, I don't think it is possible because the money required to develop such technologies does not exist or is distributed to people and sing. Let's mention here only the positive things and if the machine has a brain as strong as The human race will then be sabotaged by a small terrorist and her mind will become malicious, what inventions will she invent or will the terrorists have eternal life? What are the consequences and what can be done about it? At first glance it seems fascinating, but every proton has an electron! Eternal terror, ruling machines, they will rule us like slaves in Egypt without you being able to resist.

  9. You can find many full lectures by Ray Kurzweil on YouTube and Google Video if you search for his name in the search box ("Ray Kurzweil")

  10. Father, this mechanism that requires a long wait until the response is approved and published is really annoying, it's better that the response appears immediately and if it is problematic you can later delete it, it's really annoying and kind of takes away the desire to send comments here.

    for your information.

  11. Believing in a certain thing without any basis is simply stupid not to say primitive, according to your approach we must also believe in the possibility that there are good fairies, mermaids, Big Foot, invisible flying dragons and of course the flying spaghetti monster. Ha, and also the famous tea cup that goes around the sun. The existence of colors can actually be proven even to a blind person through a simple experiment that will prove to him that it is possible to consistently identify an object whose color is different from the color of other similar objects placed on the table, it is really not a big problem to organize such an experiment.

Not only has the existence of a "soul" never been proven, there are many findings that completely disprove this claim, if for example we had a "soul" that is responsible for our thoughts and feelings then why do we need a physical brain? After all, a soul is able to exist without a body! Also, how will you explain so many well-known cases of people whose personalities have changed completely due to a tumor or some kind of damage to their brains? How will you explain that a "soul" which is known to be immaterial is affected by physical damage to the brain? How would you explain the effect of antidepressants on the "soul"?

Another thing, so many people claim that they communicate with spirits and souls, but for some reason when they are put to the test they are never able to give any real information to prove it, during seances and communication with the spirits the souls always know how to give so much information about people, And at events, they read numbers and letters on the sans boards without a problem, but when they are asked to say during a test what is written on a piece of cardboard that is placed in the next room or even behind a curtain in the same room, they are never able to do it! A bit strange isn't it? Why is it that a spirit that can easily read letters from a Sans tablet can't or isn't able to give any detail of information about things that the people in the room don't know? (This only proves that during a séance the people communicate only with themselves and their subconscious, all the information that the so-called "spirit" gives them comes only from the heads and imaginations of the people present in the room)

In short, enough with the nonsense, and here are some fascinating videos:

  12. Dear Mr. Blizovsky

If I had written to you 200 years ago that electromagnetic radiation exists, in the form of radio waves, capable of transmitting information at the speed of light from one end of the world to the other, your response would have been the same - "Radio waves do not exist."
It is difficult for you to accept the fact that not everything that exists in the world can be tested empirically (at a given time), all the more so when humanity does not yet have sufficient tools to test one or another phenomenon (not necessarily the discovery of the soul among humans!). Just as 200 years ago it was not possible to test electromagnetic radiation.
Don't dismiss phenomena that are currently unexplainable, just because science doesn't yet have answers for them.
A color blind person will never be able to be XNUMX percent convinced that there is something colorful in the world, because it has not been "empirically" proven to him.
But the inability to prove to that person, that there is a world full of colors, does not negate the existence of this colorful world!
This has nothing to do with religion at all. I'm not a religious person, but rather you sound like one of the people of the church during the Middle Ages (of course, only on the other side of the barrier), who completely denied science and were condemned as complete fools, when science flourished and developed in the 16th century.

    Best regards,

    A'

  13. Then Ahmed Al Nigged or some other retard will come and simply erase all this with a huge mushroom. So hang around with the future and have a massage with whoever we had to meet there too.... 🙂

  14. The high point in terms of human history will be the moment when science collides with the soul. Because the soul is not "hardware" nor can it be defined as "software" (in the form of a DNA sequence or any building instructions or information belonging to the body).
Due to this inherent condition (or more correctly - ex-inherent), no computer or any other sophisticated machine can imitate this "component".

    The writer is not religious.

  15. Itamar, what does "everyone will do what they want" mean? Have you seen the movies "Terminator 1, 2, 3"?

Get ready, this is the future for all of us.

  16. It will erase the special value that exists in humans
Everyone will do what they want and I hope he just imagines it that way
