The microcomputer phenomenon that began about 10 years ago and was initially seen as a marginal and negligible phenomenon is now known as "the revolution the third industrial". The maker phenomenon, which began as a movement of engineers, designers and creative inventors, has continued to develop in recent years, especially thanks to the Internet, which allows anyone to access information easily and quickly. In addition, the rapid progress of technological production has led to the cheapening and mass production of products such as Single Board Computers and XNUMXD printers which have opened new horizons for makers and the ability to develop products at relatively cheap costs.
Many of those makers founded small companies that over the years became significant manufacturers of electronic systems and began to produce commercial products in large quantities. Recently, the main technology manufacturers have begun to understand the potential inherent in makers and are directing special resources to them, including the creation of dedicated development kits and holding special workshops for makers. In Israel as well, a relatively large community of makers has emerged and it currently includes several centers called "FabLabs".
This year Qualcomm will hold a conference DevelopEX2017 A special session for makers where you will present the development and implementation capabilities of the popular Snapdragon processors. In the special session, independent development engineers and also those working in more "institutionalized" hi-tech companies will be able to teach directly how to utilize the capabilities of the Sanpdragon processor family and integrate them easily and quickly into their products.
The seminar (free of charge) will include the presentation of Qualcomm's special implementation platform for the Snapdragon processors including the use of the hardware and software tools developed by Qualcomm and which will be presented by Ziv Kahane, Director of Engineering at Qualcomm Israel and Constantine Ulster, Senior Development Team Manager at Qualcomm Israel. In addition, Dval Vossa, director of architectures at Einfochips, will come to Israel to review methods and tools for implementing dedicated applications such as voice commands of the Alexa engine, computer vision capabilities and artificial intelligence in the Snapdragon processors and more.
