The first conference in Israel on "personalized medicine" will be held on June 17, 2009, at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv. The conference, which is part of the events of the 'Biomed Israel 2009' week, is organized by the Economic Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the Israel-Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Italian Trade Commission, within the framework of the bilateral agreement between Israel and Italy on scientific and industrial cooperation.

The conference will focus on the growing needs for a national health system capable of providing personal access to the health system, using technological solutions ranging from pharmacogenomics to medical information systems. Renowned researchers in various and diverse fields of personal medicine from Italy and Israel will take part in the conference, including companies from Lombardy and Piedmont, representatives of multinational companies, such as Bracco and Diasorin, research institutes such as Centro Diagnostico Italiano, San Raffaele, and the BioIndustry Park Canavese of Piedmont and institutional organizations responsible for the Italian health system. The conference will be opened by Uziah Galil, founder of the "Elron" company and chairman of the board of directors of "Elbit" and will be attended by Israeli companies such as: Maccabi, IBM, and Micro Medic.

"We believe that this is an extraordinary opportunity to show the power of Israeli innovations and the benefits of cooperation with Italian companies and academic centers, which can serve as a bridge to Europe and its markets," says Dr. Simon Botti, vice chairman of the Israel Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry and VP of Development Eschi Red Biomed, moderator and responsible for the contents of the seminar.
