President Shimon Peres opened the Nano Israel 2012 conference this morning. During the course of the event, the president was awarded a token of appreciation for his many years of activity to promote the field of nanotechnology in Israel.

The award was given to the president for his "vision and foresight."
And as someone who saw the great potential in the smallest things." In his speech, President Peres said that for him it was the fulfillment of a dream, not a personal one, but a national one. "At meetings of this type, I am filled with pride for the achievements our science has reached and for the fact that such senior representatives from world powers, such as China, the USA and Russia, came here specifically out of a desire for business and research cooperation," said President Peres. On a tour of the exhibition accompanying the conference, the President closely examined some of the hot developments in the field of Israeli nanotechnology.

The president thanked the heads of the nano field warmly and said: "Israel has become a world leader in the field of nano technology through the hard work of researchers and entrepreneurs and must continue to maintain its place as a pioneer. Today, powers like Russia and the USA want to cooperate with us on all levels."

  1. Gali, I would like to read the full speech and see the context in which the words were said, I find it hard to believe that he really said or meant to say that nanotechnology really existed in the time of the Bible. I have a strong feeling that things he said were simply taken out of context.

In any case, his contribution to the advancement of science in Israel is very great and for that we can only thank him.

  2. Shimon Peres is one of the people who contributed so much to the country...some of them are known and some are unknown
The fact that someone of his age cares about the future generation regarding technology can only show how much he cares
In honor of the country's president
I personally think that Shimon Peres should receive the Israel Security Award

  3. Shimon Peres said in 2009: "Nanotechnology existed even in the time of Moses, but it has not yet been discovered."
He missed a few hundred years but not bad... the main thing is that he transferred millions.
When the children of Israel were slaves to Pharaoh (and perhaps engaged in nanotechnology) there was no one to finance their occupation (our son?). They didn't even earn two moves. And Moses our rabbi was not saved.
Well... and now in the twentieth century comes salvation!

  4. Although I do not always agree with his political views, there is no doubt about his great contribution to the advancement of science in the State of Israel and for that he deserves all the respect!

Peres was and remains a fantasist.

We will pay for the disaster that Peres brought upon us in the Oslo process for generations to come. If it weren't for the Oslo Accords (which brought the terrorist organizations to Israel) there would have been a chance for us to reach some sort of quiet autonomy for the Palestinians for 50 to 100 years, now we don't have that either (there will never be peace with them).

To fantasize about the achievements of science does not have to be a great genius. Any real scientific achievement presents itself beautifully without a political patron (which only complicates matters).

  6. This is one of the most amazing presidents of the State of Israel!! A person of great wisdom who, beyond the narrow political occupation and the good representation he does for us in the world, understands very well the importance of research and science and also does everything in his power to promote important scientific issues such as the field of nanotechnology and recently also the topic of brain research:

And this is without mentioning his great work to strengthen the defense industries and important security fields, including the nuclear issue (at least that's what I read).

I personally take my hat off to him, he is just a personality and I am very proud that he is our president.

  7. How does a corrupt politician become the president of the country, and a person that everyone is afraid of in this country?
