The biotechnology company MND is expanding its operations: the company has begun the process of recruiting new employees and for the benefit of their absorption has moved its operations to a new complex in the science park in Ness-Ziona. The MND company, founded in 2004, by Dr. Dorit Arad, who currently serves as the company's chief scientist, develops an identification kit, based on innovative technology, that allows detecting within a few minutes in field conditions and accurately a variety of infectious diseases, such as bird flu, common flu, AIDS, meningitis, malaria and Sars.
According to Avraham Merilos, CEO of MND, "The measures to recruit personnel for research and development positions, combined with the move to the new offices, are intended to significantly speed up the launch of the company's first flagship product - an identification kit for the detection of meningitis (meningitis). The global infectious disease market addressed by MND is estimated at approximately 12 billion dollars. We estimate that the product will be available in about eight months."
"The global forecasts for the real-time infectious disease diagnosis market refer to the increase that has occurred in recent years in the global spread of deadly epidemics, which cause, among other things, enormous financial damages. These raised the demand for an identification kit that would be easy to operate and provide immediate results," says Marilos. According to him, the Israeli identification system, which meets a real clinical need, can be easily applied even in field conditions, so that it can be used effectively in hospitals, clinics, institutions, airports and even for private use by the patient himself.
